Girl to Girl Cards with Michelle Philippi
January 28th? Really? How did that happen? Wasn't it just Christmas like yesterday? Oh my. Better hurry on up and get the annual stock of all-occasion cards made up before we get too much farther in to the year!
I've got a couple of girl-to-girl cards to share with you today. The first one is the perfect pick-me-up card to send to your girlfriend. I actually have a bunch of rose bushes all along my front walkway and I'll tell you what, stopping to smell them just makes me smile - a total turn that frown upside down moment.
My second card makes me giggle. I love the "goody two shoes" on this vintage notebook paper and pairing it with the "be yourself" sticker I thought was pretty funny. We all have one of those goody two shoes girlfriends, don't we? But we love her anyway! I tried to make this card all perfect and pretentious just like her *giggles*
Cheers! - the weekend is here.

Peek-A-Boo with Tracie Hudson
As we are in the midst of Winter, here in the UK, I find that indulging in an afternoons paper play soon eases those Winter blues, especially when the photographs I'm scrapping evoke memories of sunnier days or times gone by.
When putting this page together I wanted to draw focus to the photograph using one of the wonderful Glitz Designs Hoopla Peek-a-Boo frames. To give the frame more density, I simply applied a thin layer of white acrylic paint to the reverse of the printed transparent piece. Once the paint was dry, I attached the frame, above the photograph, using 3d foam pads.
Product used - Glitz Designs Hoopla Patterned Paper, Cardstock Stickers, Page Titles, Glitzers and WhatNot; Glitz Design Rub on; Glitz Design Crystlas, Glitz Design Tulle; Glitz Design Teeny Alpha.
The same paint technique was used on the reverse of the Scarlet Peek -A- Boo that "frames" this photograph of my husbands Mother, which was taken on her 21st Birthday.
Product used - Glitz Designs Scarlet Patterned Paper, Peek-A-Boo and WhatNot; Glitz Designs Love Nest Rubons; Glitz Designs Teeny Alpha; Glitz Designs Tulle.
Have you used Glitz Designs Peek-A-Boo's on your pages and projects?
If so, then leave a link here, as I'd love to pop by and take a peek.
Have a creative day and thanks for calling by.

Celebrate Birthdays with Laurie Schmidlin
Good morning! Laurie here, and I've got a couple of birthday cards to share with you!
This first card is for my Father-In-Law. I don't know about you, but I normally really struggle when I sit down to create masculine cards. Ribbons, flowers, rhinestones, and all those pretty embellishments...they are definitely more in my comfort zone. Well, as I was looking through my package of Paper Layers (from the Love Nest Collection), I came across the coolest map with an old vintage sailboat on it and before I knew it my card was finished!
After roughing up the edges of the map Paper Layer, I layered on some vellum that I stamped with the ledger background stamp (from the Distressing Set 3). I kept the embellishments to a minimum using only various strings and a brad.
And now for something completely different! :-) For this card I went clean, crisp, & fun!
Using my patterned paper (Hoopla Frames from the Hoopla Collection) as an accent and utilizing more white space enabled the rub on I chose (from the Hoopla Collection) to really pop! Again, I kept the embellishments to a minimum so as not to take away from the vibrant image.
Before I go, I wanted to remind you that there is still time to enter to win the new Glitz Collections!! Check out these posts for more info: Afternoon Muse, Laced with Grace, & Love Games!
Have a fabulous day! ~Laurie

Green & Pink Decorated Frames with Tammy Tutterow
Today I thought it would be fun to share a pair of frames that feature the same design and same technique and show how just simply changing the patterned paper gives each a different look and feel.
The first frame features a bold green damask print from Glitz Design's Scarlett collection.
After covering the frame with the green paper, I adhered a piece of Paper Layers on the left side of the frame using Claudine Hellmuth Studios Multi Medium. Once the medium was dry, I spritzed water onto the paper and rubbed it with my finger in order to peel away portions of the Paper Layer to reveal the green patterned paper below.
As I rubbed over the Paper Layer, I rubbed until some areas dissolved completely and left other areas with peeled and frayed edges for a very vintage and distressed look. Once the paper was dry, I rubbed over the Paper layers surface and the edges of the frame with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
To embellish the frame, I layered two flowers with two leaves along the lower left corner of the frame. I added two flowers over the leaves. I added letter stickers from the Titles sticker sheet to the silhouette sticker from the same sheet which I trimmed to include just the oval frame. I tucked the sticker into my flower cluster and then added two Glitzer stickers next to each flower.
For the second frame, I used Glitz Design's Love Nest "Damask" paper to cover the frame.
As with the other frame, I applied a piece of Paper Layers on the left side and then wet the paper and removed it in areas to reveal the pattern below. On this frame, I removed the paper so that it sort of transitioned from one pattern to the next, leaving less peeled and torn areas than I did on the green frame. As before, I rubbed over the surface and edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
I again used a cardstock sticker and two Glitzers in addition to a flower and leaves.
I adhered the cardstock sticker on this frame to a scrap piece of Paper Layers so that it would be free to lay above the surface and not be stuck down.

Nests & Cupcakes with Kristii Lockart
Hi there dear friends!! I am so very excited to share some more Glitzy goodness with you today!!! This time of year, as we draw close to Valentine's day, I tend to feel a little romantic and I pull out my lace, ribbon, buttons and vintage images and put a little shabby chic into my creations! I guess you could say I've got that "Loving Feeling"!!
For my first card, I combined the Hoopla Collection and the pretty pink in the Love Nest Collection and I just love the results!!! This card totally fits my shabby chic mood!
Supplies Used:
Glitz Design "Hoopla" Paper: Polka and Frames
Glitz Design "Love Nest" Paper: Damask
Glitz Design "Love Nest" Cardstock Stickers: Journaling
Glitz Design "Love Nest" Rub Ons
other supplies:
PTI Cardstock: Rustic White; PTI dies: Victorian Lace Border; PTI Stamps: Love Birds; PTI Felt; Button, Seam Binding and Lace from my stash; Tim Holtz Distress Ink by Ranger: Brushed Corduroy; Copic Marker: E 50 Egg Shell; Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
I colored the white seam binding with a Copic Marker and tied a double bow. I inked the first word in the sentiment and stamped it at the top of the tag. I inked the rest of the stamp and I applied it to the bottom of the tag and then I adhered the birdie rub ons in the middle of the tag. Then, I added a decorative border cut from patterned paper and a pretty button to finish off the bow.
For my second project, I designed a little card for my sweet daughter's birthday. I used the beautiful Love Nest line, a little glitter and added a hand cut banner.
Supplies used:
Glitz Designs "Love Nest" Papers: Damask, Stripe and Polka
Glitz Designs "Love Nest" Glitzers Transparent Stickers
Glitz Designs "Cardstock Stickers" Teeny Alphabet Ivory
Glitz Designs "Bling" Giant Rhinestones Pink Black Green
other supplies:
PTI cardstock: Rustic White; PTI dies: Border Builder Collection; PTI Stamps: Make a Wish and Baby Button Bits; PTI Buttons and Button Twine; Glitter Martha Stewart; Tim Holtz Distress Ink by Ranger: Brushed Corduroy and Crushed Olive.
I stamped the cupcake onto two different types of paper and pieced them together. Then I added glitter to make the frosting shine. I colored the cupcake wrapper with Crushed Olive and Brushed Corduroy ink. The banner is hand-cut and I added Glitz Alphas for the happy sentiment. I hung the banner on button twine and added buttons then I stamped the birthday sentiment and I hand-cut it out as well. For the final touch I layered the cupcake onto a Glitz Design Glitzer to add interest.Wishing you an absolutely fantabulous day!!!
Kristii
