Our very first National commercial is finished! So keep a look out for us on T.V. if you live in the US!

Hi everyone! Leslie here....

It's Mother's Day weekend!

In honor of ALL Mom's out there...

I've posted a couple of projects to celebrate the day...

My first project is a teeny canvas (3.75x4.50) I found at
my local Hobby Lobby (Michael's or any craft store sells them)

I thought it was SO cute and wanted to make something with it...

so here you have it...my teeny canvas project:

For this canvas I simply did:

1. sanded the canvas a little then sprayed Glimmer Mist (in pink) and wiped off immediately

(I only wanted a tad bit of the pink in the background) then painted the edges in

silver & black.

2. I rubbed the Glitz rub-on (frames) and let it hang off the edge a little (later I cut

off the piece I didn't need)

3. In the open center of the frame I added a journaling sticker from the "Audrey"

line and framed its edges with Glitz frosting.

4. Next I added a sentiment sticker from "Audrey" and let it hang off the side a bit

5. I placed a photo corner sticker from "Hot Mama" to give it a little more flair.

6. I used a rub on from "Hot Mama" and made it 3D using a pop dot.

I saw a cool inspiration piece on a website and decided to try the technique

myself!! (For more information about the technique - visit my blog)

It's called "Inchies"

Here's my Mother's Day "Inchies" project:

You can decorate any size canvas - in any way you desire.

I used ALL Glitz products on this canvas (which is sized: 6.75x8.75)

Here's what I did to make this canvas:

1. sanded the canvas

2. sprayed glimmer mist (I used bubble gum) & wiped it off, I just wanted

a touch of pink.....

3. painted the edges in silver first, then black (for the "grunge" effect)

4. punched 1 inch squares from Glitz's "Hot Mama" & "Audrey" papers

5. distressed each square's edge and painted silver

6. placed them spaced a tad bit apart and making a couple "3D" with pop dots.

7. I decorated a few squares with Glitz's Rub - Ons & stickers

8. I left off 2 squares towards the bottom - just enough room for my letters

and I added a rub on bird from the "Audrey" line. (I created my own crown for the bird using stickers and frosting from Glitz.)

That's it! Easy and fun....

Ohhh! pick me! pick me! I had to move my scrap area & am amidst trying to put everything back together. After only a few hours sleep last night I'm still not done! UGH! should be seeing a light at the end of the tunnel soon and then I've promised my daughter (8 y/o)that we would work on her new scrapbook kit from her Easter basket. If I can squeeze in some "me" time & I don't collapse from my "all night shuffle" I'll be working on an altered window pane. Love those papers! totally GORGEOUS! Happy NSBD!!! : )

Quick and Easy Glitz Card

Have you ever found yourself quickly needing a card? Well, Glitz product makes it quick and easy to make a fabulous card without a trip to the store, and without spending a bunch of your hard earned dollars. I got this card done in less than 10 minutes!

Supplies Needed:
H2651 Hallow Circles paper
RO1104 Rub Ons Doodle Borders
E1084 Eye Candy Party chipboard stickers
white cardstock
rub-on sentiment
Chalk Ink

Fold a 4x8 inch block of Hallow Circles paper in half to make your cardbase and ink the edges with charcoal colored chalk ink. Cut a 3.5 inch square from white cardstock and ink the edges with the chalk ink. Adhere to the middle of the card.

Cut out the Doodle Borders rub-on, and add to the left hand corner of the card. Apply your rub-on sentiment to the lower right corner. Finish by attaching the chipboard presents right above the sentiment.

See? Quick and easy, but looks fabulous! The recipient will love it! Be sure to check out all of Glitz's papers, rub-ons and eye candy chipboard!

*Every Girly Girl Needs THIS*

How many times do I wish I had a cute notepad by my computer to take notes on? Or while I'm out - I can't even begin to tell you how many times I'm digging in my car or my purse for something to write on ....

Here's a little notepad I created that solves all my problems, not to mention it's so girly and FUN to pick up...

Let me tell you how I created this quick and easy little notepad:

First here's the supplies you'll need:
--Glitz patterned papers: Hot Mama - Mama Zebra; Hot Mama - Mama Silhouette
--Glitz Eye Candy - Flowers
--Glitz Round Frosting - Pink
--Glitz Frosting Circles - black
--Glitz Glam Tattoo Rub-ons
--Glitz Black Alpha Cardstock Letter Stickers
--any size notepad will do, I used a smaller one
--and any color chipboard flower to add as a color accent behind the Glitz Flower Eye Candy (I chose lime green)

This is what I did:
--I cut the Mama Silhouette paper to fit my little notepad. I chose the edge with the whimsy floral design and adhered it to my notepad using strong adhesive.
--I then sanded the edges a bit and inked them in black to give it a little dimension.
--Next I added the Glitz round frosting in pink along the left edge
--I traced a flower from a chipboard flower I had lying around (any size will work) from the Mama Zebra paper. Then I sanded it and inked it before adhering to the right side of my notepad to where it was off of the edge just a little bit. I added a green chipboard flower (I wanted a pop of another color) underneath the Eye Candy flower that I added next. To spice up the flower just a little I then added the round Frosting as a flower center.
--The letter stickers from Glitz are my favorites!! I added them at the bottom spelling out "notes" and then rubbed on "GIRLY" from the Glam Tattoo Rub Ons.
And that's it - that's how you make this notepad that you can either keep for yourself or give as a gift!! Here's a little closeup:

Prayers...Happy Nie Nie Day!

Very recently a local Arizona couple and a pilot were in a terrible plane crash. The couple suffered severe burns and the pilot passed away. We have not been able to stop thinking about this family and following their story. Design Mom has declared today Nie Nie Day! She is hosting a silent auction in honor of Stephanie Nielson and her husband Christian. All proceeds are going to the Stephanie and Christian fund. One of our designers Lyndsay Johnson together with her friends have created a beautiful website for the recovery of the Nielsons. Please check it out to learn more about this story and what you can do to help.....at Nie Recovery. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to their families.

quick gift

Quick Gift
for fall friends

How is it that it is nearly fall? This time of year is filled with lots of new activities... school, sports and parties. Not to mention the holidays just around the corner. It's great to have a quick project to put together for those fall get togethers.

Supplies:
1 each Glitz Gigi Birds and Gigi Trees patterned paper
Glitz Small Round Pink Frosting Strip
Glitz Large Round Clear Frosting Strip
Glitz Feathered Jouranl Rub ons
Chipboard flower, purple cardstock, hole punch, purple ink

To make this project, you'll want a decent sized chipboard shape. I used a single page I took from a chipboard album. To cover the album, I cover the chipboard in adhesive and stick it right to the back of the Gigi cardstock, then cut around it with my craft knife. With the patterned paper already attached to the chipboard, you don't have to worry about it slipping around when you're cutting.

To give the flower a little more dimension, I inked the edges with a coordinating ink color. I then cut the photo and cardstock mat into circles and adhered them to the flower with foam tape to make them pop. Shape Glitz frosting around the photo to add another layer of dimension. To bring out the cute purple polka dots on the Gigi paper, I punched small circles from purple cardstock, and put them around my photo.

I then cut some flowers and a birdie our of a scrap of my Gigi patterned papers. They layered over my photo with foam tape. To finish it off I added three individual frosting rhinestones, and a Glitz rub on.

With just your basic supplies and some Glitzy goodness, you've got a great little gift!

3 Glitz Layouts Class! This class was all fun and games!!! Happy Clear Acrylic Album Class! More fun and laughs!

While in Texas we made lots of new friends! Some projects talented ladies made with Glitz products could not be ignored...so I wanted to share them here:
Below is Katherine who made the coolest ATC card using our digital elements. She shrunk everything tiny to make this cute card..the little birdie is popped out and there's bling on the front!

Hybrid Cards with Glitz!

I am sure that I am not the only one out there who lives on a budget, and who likes to get the biggest bang for my buck....right? Well, Glitz makes it EASY for even the most frugal to enjoy paper crafting by offering their Digital/Printable Kits. I am an AVID card maker, and the Create A Card and Create A Card Vol. 2 disks are a MUST HAVE in any collection. You can print each image over and over again. Not to mention...the disks are just FULL of great digital images and papers to use!

They are really easy to use too! First, just make a new image at the size you want your card to be in the photo software of your preference (I use Adobe Photoshop...but you can use any type!). Then open the images you want from either of the Create A Card disks, and resize them to meet your needs. After that just drag, drop and move, or copy, paste and move the images around until they are right where you want them on the card.

After that, you are ready to print! Be sure to set your print quality to high, and check your fit to scale button so it will print perfectly. I prefer to use white Bazzill cardstock in the orange peel texture for printing...the colors come out nice and bright!

Once you have printed out the hybrid part of the card, it is time to embellish it with those true paper scrapping items that you love! I am a Glitz girl through and through...so adding some glitter and bling is a must on any project I do! On this specific card I used the fabulous Glitz Frosting and Icing!

Once you are done embellishing your cards, you can go ahead and score it and fold it in half!

And viola...your card is done! You have a fabulous card that was easy to do, didn't cost a lot of money, and you can do it all over again if you want! Here are few cards that I got done with both of my Create A Card disks. The options are endless when you are using the Glitz digital/printable kits! Hope you enjoy using them!

Yes!
At first glance you may not see the Rhapsody collection as your first pick for Halloween pictures, but the colors work fabulous!!!
I did this layout of my youngest two in their halloween costumes last year, I just love how it turns out!
The bold bright colors really pop when paired with black cardstock, give it a try!



I used the awesome - go on like butter- rubons for this card! The already embellished chipboard makes a perfect embellishment!!

You AMAZE Me - Glitz Style!

Glitz is so VERSATILE, so FUN, so "ya gotta have it all"

Let me just tell you how versatile it is! I had such fun putting this book together of my sweet boy. I got out all of my Glitz and started putting patterned papers together from different Glitz lines :) Who knew? WOW, I LOVE how the patterns coordinate with each other!

For my minibook, first I started by covering chipboard coasters from one of my fave restaurants (hee hee!) who shall remain nameless....
I attached my pics, embellishments galore, did the journaling and bam! I came up with this book:

This is my cover - I made it using Glitz's Dozer line along with the fabulous Glitz Rub-Ons, & Glitz frosting.


For these 2 pages, I used more of the Dozer line, along with Rhapsody and some frosting circles.


And on these pages I used paper from the Camelot line along with some a little of the Rhapsody line. See? I TOLD you they're VERY versatile and SO FUN to put together!!! I also used more of the Frosting, Roller Doodles and rub ons!


And for these I used Camelot and my circles are from Rhapsody. I love the Glitz frosting shapes and I the arrows have to be my fave! I love that they come in all colors.


For this page I used Rhapsody. I also used Rub ons and I LOVE how you can shape the Glitz frosting any way you want! Here you'll notice I made 2 semi-circles.


I really LOVE the bright colors in the Rhapsody as I've used it again here for these pages. It's so fun to put any of the Frostings together too :)

super fun glitz stuff at work

I set out to make a project with some of the very cool new Glitz products. I love making mini albums and this little black board book was calling my name. I thought it would work perfectly with all of the fun bright colors of Glitzy goodness. There are so many great ways to use these products... so I decided to list just a few fun ways with each of the pictures of the album. :)

First off, I have to say how much I'm in love with these new rub-ons! Did you know the black on these rub-ons is a shiny black... like patten leather shoes shiny black? It is so fun! I have grand plans for using these extra large rub-ons on layouts... I seriously can't wait!

Another super cool Glitz addition... ROLLER DOODLES!!! These are a blast. I wish the picture showed it off better, but I rolled the flower Roller Doodle in VersaMark ink then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder right onto the cover of the mini album. It was a really fun way to add that little something extra without distracting from the main focus. Here's a little tip if you're looking to cover a background with lots of doodle-ie fun... instead of rolling in horizontal or vertical direction, try rolling onto your paper on the diagonal. It's a lot harder to tell if your lines are straight or wobbly if it's rolled on the diagonal! :)

Another thing I love about Glitz... their digital elements. They coordinate and enhance their paper products perfectly. On this page (and the cover) I took the damask print you probably recognize from the ultra chic Hot Mama line, converted it to blue in Photoshop, and printed it right onto some pearlescent paper. The result, is full of shiny chic fun!

Oh the happy thoughts that come to mind when someone says frosting. The chocolate gooey sugar shock version makes my pants feel tighter... but the Glitz has the only ZERO CALORIE option out there! I love how the frosting is mold-able into any shape. Here it's formed into a circle. No more sadness over being out of that perfect sized or shape bling element... we've gone D.I.Y.!

Fun with Frosting words & journaling blocks! When your DIY letter molding skills are taking a break... grab the Frosting words. They're in cute fonts that make adding a title to your projects so easy. Glitz journaling blocks are so fun... and totally not limited to just journaling. They work great as layers, accents and elements! Add the Frosting circles and some rub-ons and you're golden!

The owl paper was made using another Glitz digital element printed on pearlescent paper.

Arrows, flourishes and words... OH MY! Arrows are fun... arrows are even more fun when they are swirly. Like all of the Frosting these have the same flexible nature that allows you to make them work for your project, and yet they'll hold their shape when you pull them off their backing. Truly the best of both worlds.

My favorite flourishes... they make my heart all melty. These were cut down from their original size to work as an accent with the flower. Can you spot the roller doodle appearance on this page? There will be another picture of it up close coming up...

This page has it all... Frosting, printed digi elements, Roller Doodles, Frosting words, fabulous Glitz paper... I love it when a plan comes together! (For all you A-Team fans out there.)

The last page of this little mini book... some more fun with arrows and rub-ons. The grid rub-on was cut down from it's original, as was the flourish. The flower was punched so the cute little strawberry would be right in the center of the flower.

What a fabulous show! Glitz Design was a BIG success! We are so happy that everyone loved our products as much as we do! We met so many kind,wonderful people that we know we'll have lifetime relationships with! It was so awe inspiring to be at the show and surrounded with so many talented designers and companies! It is just now starting to sink in! Wow! Chicago! What a beautiful city! ..........and the FOOD! We were in heaven! So many good places to eat there! Each of us at Glitz are so grateful for the wonderful opportunity we had to go to CHA and present our dream to the world and see it excite so many people! We will never forget our first show and everyone that contributed to it's success!! Thank you, Thank you! I'd like to share some pictures and video's I took while there so you can get a glimpse of just how much fun it was!

Ami's comment read: The oddest thing in my purse/diaper bag, right now, is 2 medicine cups, taped together, with my dd's ear tube sandwiched in between them. They were out at a recent visit and one was just sitting in some wax in her ear canal. the doc offered it to me, so i took it. I still don't know what I will do with it.
