First off, let me say that Glitz is the most generous company! Thank you for the wonderful give-away!

My favorite holiday tradition is making my mom a birthday cake. Her birthday is Christmas Eve, and I remember her saying that growing up she never got a birthday cake, they just combined her day with Christmas. Once I was grown, I decided she would never go without a birthday cake again so every year I make her favorite for her - rum cake - and make sure she gets a real birthday.

great giveaway!

my favorite holiday tradition is betting on what time santa will come around on the fire truck on christmas eve, we have done this since we were little and we still get a kick out of hearing those sirens!

Our favorite holiday tradition is going over to Grandma and Grandpa's house the weekend after Thanksgiving and helping to decorate their tree. We go early in the morning and Grandma cooks breakfast while the kids start decorating. After breakfast, I cook up some cookies (Grandma is great, she has the cookie dough all made up in advance for me!) while they finish the decorating, then we snack on some cookies and take a few home with us.

Oh and that's too cool about FirstLady Jen's mom. My birthday is Christmas Eve too! :) Thanks for a great contest and I love your designs!

ONE of my favorite traditions is a stocking stuffer that SANTA brings. Cheddar Cheese goldfish, and peanut m&m's. Sounds weird but TOTALLY yummy!:)

AHadley said...

Oh wow, that's a supremely awesome stocking there!

My fav tradition is one that we've started with our own kids. Each year after Thanksgiving, we take them to Hobby Lobby to pick out an ornament. They take it so seriously that it takes about an HOUR for them to choose! And then it's fun to see the ornaments they've chosen in years past when we decorate the tree :)

My favorite holiday tradition is getting a new package of underware. Each year my Mom buys all of us a new package of undies. This is her way of having us start out the new year with something new. Each Christmas morning we all open our new "undies" at the same time. My husband was so happy the first year we were married, and he became a member of the "new undies gang."

Well my favorite holiday tradition is...definitely taking my 3 boys out to chop down the Christmas Tree.
We are sort of National Lampoon style! LOL
The boys fight over who carries the saw and cardboard and they all drag the tree back showing MOM how strong they are! Its like a mini movie! Then they all hoist it in to the minivan and you see branches sticking halfway out the windows and feet coming through the back seat. But I love every minute of it!

One of my parents is Christian and the other is Jewish so I have a lot of Holiday traditions that I love. I have always loved eating a big breakfast with my family on Christmas morning. I also love when my entire extended family gets together for Chanukah. We have a white elephant gift exchange and eat tons of latkes.

I just got married in May so I am looking forward to creating some new traditions with my new husband.

My favorite holiday tradition is a game of dirty Christmas that we play with my extended family(this is like a gift swap, but stealing gifts from each other is involved). We have the same prank gift that comes back every year that has been in the family over 30 years!

Our favorite tradition is going out the day after Thanksgiving to cut down our Christmas tree.

We have so many traditions in our family. It's hard to pick just one. I guess the biggest one is - we hit the road. We make this huge road trip from SC to IA to IL to OH to PA just so we can spend some Christmas time with all of our exteded family. We have 3 gathering. That's Christmas 3 times for my kids, plus what we do at home before we go. We've always asked Santa to come a little early - you know that helps him out too.

Katherine said...

One of my favorite holiday traditions is getting together with family before Christmas. We have a family get together and we all bring yummy food. We get to catch with everyone. It's a fun filled day. :)Then of course being with my family on Christmas day.

Brenda said...

My family spends Thanksgiving together eating and playing games. We also pour over the ads for the next day and make our stradegies for the next days shopping!!!

Sharmin said...

I LOVE Glitz!

Thanksgiving and Christmas are about the only times our whole extended family can get together. My mom and her 3 brothers, and 1 sister are all very musically inclined (as well a few cousins), and each family gathering ends up around the piano. It was my grandmother's favorite part of the evening and we still sing her favorite songs (gospel hymns and Christmas carols) even though we lost her in 1993. We are now up to almost 60 people, but it's wonderful to have that many family members together at once. It's loud and chaotic, but I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Chris said...

My husband and I don't get to celebrate Christmas together most years because of his work, however we make a point to always pull out the tree and decorate it together. So, that has become my favorite tradition with him. And before that, it was my favorite tradition with my mother -- trimming the tree.

Kimmie said...

Baking Christmas cookies... when I was little I used to bake them with my grandfather - then when he passed away I took them over on my own. This year my oldest son (2) has told me he's going to "help"

I know that this makes me sound like a dork but I just love putting the Xmas music on while we put up the tree and decorate the house. The whole family helps so it can be a lot of fun. My sisters and Mom did this all of the years that we were growing up.

My favorite Christmas tradition when I was a kid is that we would go to a christmas eve mass and then get McDonalds and ride around in the car and look at lights while we eat!
Simple but we always had fun!

I would have to say my absolute favorite tradition is spiced chai lattes with lots of marshmallows while sitting by our outdoor firepit and listening to Christmas music. This was a tradition my husband and i started about 3 years ago. Happy Holidays & thanks for this very generous giveaway! : )

I'd have to say getting out and putting up the decorations, tree, and lights the day after Thanksgiving. I know it doesn't seem like much of a tradition, but we are so far from family and hubsters misses so many Christmas's...it's just about all we have.

Kristie said...

My favourite holiday tradition is the present wrapping. I love wrapping presents and making them look all beautiful under the tree. Ever since I was about 12 my mum has let me do the wrapping and now when I get home she always has this enormous stack of presents waiting for me to wrap. It takes a whole day and I sit on the floor with paper and ribbon and bows and tags, listening to music and chatting with my mum....it's a fun way to spend a day :)

Each year we get a present on Thanksgiving, or on that weekend. This year I made fuzzy blankets with Santa, raindeer and baby deer and redbirds on them. The little ones get to use their present (it always has a Christmas theme) while anticipating Christmas each year. They looked so cute wrapped up in their blankets in the sunshine this year! okiegrandma/sb.com

Hmm...I think my favorite tradition is our advent calendar. My parents got it from a friend when I was little. It's made from wood and has all the little pieces of the nativity (including animals/birds) on wooden pegs that fit into a creche-shaped board. LOVE it!

Kathy said...

My fav holiday tradition started when the children's first Christmas and I got each one holiday pj's. As they got older that was the one present they each had to open on Christmas Eve. They grew to know what it was but wouldn't miss getting them. They are now 26, 21 and 19 and I still get them some kind of Christmas PJ's but it is harder as they get older. I hope that they pass it on to their children someday.

Wow, what a wonderful gift!

My favorite holiday tradition is one that I have been involved with since I was a little girl. As far back as I can remember, my dad's side of the family has reserved a hall and we all get together. Everyone, no matter where they live. We all converge on Nashville and celebrate family, life, the kids, togetherness and the reason for the season. I'm now 37 years old and I am so thankful that my kids are now experiencing this wonderful tradition.

Thanks again for such a wonderful opportunity.

A favorite family holiday tradition is pepperoni rolls. We make them by hand and they take so much work that we usually reserve them for holidays.

Wow, that is an amazing stocking, you guys are great!
My favorite Christmas tradition is getting the group photo that I can't leave without every year. It's great to see how much or how little we all change in a year's time, especially the kids.

Lindsay Spencer said...

My favorite tradition is our Christmas Eve. We talk about the Christmas story with our kids, and talk about what it means to each of us. Then we open a present, which is ALWAYS soft comfy matching pajamas. I make sure to have them washed and smelling good for everyone. Then the kids give me a present, which is always a book they've picked out with DH. We read the book by the Christmas tree and sit up and talk for a while, then put the kids to bed. It makes me feel happy inside just thinking about.

Thanks for a great chance to win some FABULOUS GLITZ!

Shirley said...

First of all, awesome prize package! One of my favorite traditions is one I enjoy all by myself. After the tree is decorated and everyone has gone to bed I turn out all the lights except the Christmas tree and reflect on the true meaning of the season.

One of my favorite Holiday traditions took place today - Black Friday shopping!! Every year my daughter and I get up in the still of the night and rush down to Walmart to scoop up on the Black Friday sales. I know it sounds whacky - but this signals the start of the Holidays for me - gets me in Christmas mode. Plus it is a special time with my daughter.

This is a great idea to get people's perspectives on what's an important tradition for them especially during these times of economy woes. Thanks for offering the idea!
Favorite tradition is getting daughter's advent calendar ready for her. I do something different every time but basic concept. Sometimes it's a note with candy, a small toy, a request to give a hug, etc. Now that she's too old to believe in Santa this is her surprise so like to make it something special.

Unknown said...

Definitely baking with my dd! Now that she is old enough it is so fun to make cookies together!

Growing up in Hawaii, our x-mas trees were always expensive and cut weeks before it got to the islands for everyone to purchase.
SO, now as a "mainlander", my favorite holiday tradition is to go to the tree farm to pick out and cut our own Christmas tree!
Sure it's a cold, dirty, and usually wet (here in Oregon) job, but it is totally worth it!
Aloha & Mele Kalikimaka!
Happy Holidays Glitz! :)

We spend the holidays at home with family. The kids open gifts and the grown up watch the little faces make some of the funnies expressions. A course mom has her camera and catch them expressions to later use them in layouts. Growing up we used to spend the holiday with my grandparents and I can remember thinking that the red lights on towers was the reindeers and santa as we came home from Church. My grandmother's birthday was on Christmas eve, It made the holidays extra special. Thanks for the chance to win such great goodies.

I live in Kansas City, the city of fountains and the Country Club Plaza. Every Thanksgiving eve the 80 miles of Christmas lights are turned on. They have entertainment and celebrities starting at 4 p.m. and lights being turned on at 7 p.m. Beautiful. This is a tradition that I've followed all my life and I'm 67yr. old. Thanks for sharing.

Unknown said...

Too funny that my mom is the post immediately before me! LOL...
Besides the tradition of going to see the Plaza lights...I love that mom and I would make all of the candy and cookies. I shared that tradition with my daughter and now miss it since she is grown and moved away.
This year I'll be making cookies for a cookie swap...not quite the same without the company of mom or my daughter...but the spirit will be there.

Our favorite tradition occurs on Christmas Eve, when I pull out our 12x12 Christmas albums, and we scroll thru the past 12 years since hubby and I were married...now, 4 kids later.. it's amazing to see the evolution of our holiday! And, this is the first time the kids get to see the "completed" pages from last years' celebration! (I only work on these pages when no one is around, so NO PEEKING!)... I think it helps them to remember how blessed they are, and it's always fun to hear the memories that are triggered by the photos..

My favorite holiday tradition is logging online to Santa Norad site to watch Santa visit all over the world and see when he will land at our house. Another tradition we started last year, is baking chocolate chip cookies for santa and his reindeers and place them by the fireplace with a tall cold glass of milk, when my DD goes to bed DH eats them and we make a trail of crumbs from the fireplace to the tree and leave a bag of presents for DD......LOL! Gotta have fun while they are still small.

My favorite tradition is picking out the Christmas tree. My fiance and I go to his parents farm and dig out the four wheeler. We drive around looking for a good tree (he knows all the good spots). Until finally we find one, cut it down and drag it back to the house. It's such a fun tradition to actually find and cut down your own tree from the wild (not a tree farm) and knowing it came from his parents land is super cool too!

Okay, so it hasn't been a long standing tradition, just over the last five or six years....but we all get together the eve before Christmas eve and call our relatives that live overseas. Then there is shopping with my hubbie and laughing hysterically at what he picks out. Finally just trying to shop for my hubbie and hiding his gifts around the house.

Thanks for the fantastic give-away!

I LOVE your product and with all the Glitz I could make Beautiful Christmas pages. My favorite Holiday tradition is to participate in Return to Bethlehem at our Church. It is a live play where the audience walks through the city of Bethlehem and stops at each shop, until the end where they will see Mary Joseph and Baby Jesus. People are usually very moved by the time they reach the Holy Family. It has be a tradition at our church for the last 15 years. My son was baby Jesus 14 years ago when he was 4 weeks old. Merry Christmas!!

We celebrate our Christmas on the 24th - we start with a big dinner out at a fabulous seafood buffet place in town, then head to church for evening service and singing, then come home and open presents (in an organized/chaos kind of way as my kids get older). This year, we'll have 2 extras joining us - my soon to be new son in law and my 17 year old daughter's boyfriend of the past few years... it's so wonderful to see the family growning!

Well, I don't celebrate the holidays, but I do enjoy the time off work!!

My favorite holiday tradition is making Christmas cookies. My mother and I made them together every year until she passed away 4 years ago. Now I continue the tradition with my daughters.

Thanks for the opportunity to win those beautiful products!

My favorite has to be baking cookies with my kids, making tons of cookies literally, remember my kitchen at Christmas Laura? I was the cookie exchange. We have also added making chocolate suckers with our kids each year, this is the gift they give to their friends, classmates, teachers, etc. They can give as many as they are willing to make! Okay anything in the kitchen is my favorite, yule logs, cakes, cupcakes, etc.

One of my favorite traditions is giving my boys new jammies on Christmas eve. When we get home from my mother in laws house I always give them one present to open and it is always new jammies. Even though they know what it will be they are so excited and put them on right away and pose in front of the tree for a picture.

What an awesome give-away. I love the name of the line (it's my nickname).

We love decorating a Gingerbread House with our Grand kiddos. It's so awesome to see them use their creative abilities and talents in using frosting, candy embellisments and bling. They create a Glitzy house and make it a home. The magic in their eyes is worth frosting all over the place. A job well done!

My favorite tradition would have to be,going the Sat. after Thanksgiving and picking out our Christmas tree. My husband makes fun of me because it always takes me at least 2 hours to find one , and I usually end up buying the first one I saw.

Of course, we watch Charlie Brown's Christmas and listen to Christmas music while we do it!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR TOMORROW.... that's when we are decorating the house this year!! :)

By far, our favorite holiday tradition is opening the wooden doors on our advent calendar, taking out a nativity scene magnet, and watching the scene come together day by day. It is a good reminder for all of us of the true meaning of Christmas.

Love it! My favorite Christmas tradition is:

*Buying an ornament for each family member that represents the year for that person. This year we are getting our girls "Disney Princess" ornaments.....it's ALWAYS a princess day at our house!

My favorite tradition would have to be Santa coming on Christmas Eve and giving all the grandkids a sack. Santa changes every year, but every year the kids figure it out!

My favorite part of the holidays is spending time with family. I love getting together with my whole family. Right now we can't do that since my family lives overseas, so my next favorite is decorating the tree.

Thank you Glitz for such a fun giveaway. I really like your products.

I have a couple favorite traditions. First, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas music is played whenever possible in the house and whenever we are driving around. Now, that the kids are a little older, we sing along to all the songs. It is a fun time together.

My second favorite is baking all sorts of cookies and other goodies with the kids and making plates of the different yummy treats and taking them to friends and neighbors!!!

Merry Christmas to all of you out there.

Tina

My favorite holiday tradition is picking out an ornament for each of our 5 kids. We pick them out according to their hobbies/sports/moods (teenagers) happen to be at the time. This year they are all in to woodsy/cowboy stuff so it's been a lot of fun picking these out. Then when they are grown (our oldest just turned 18 and is joining the military) they will get a box of ornaments to decorate their "first" tree.

Every Year - on the last Saturday in November, all our friends and their kids gather at our place to decorate our Christmas Tree. I make my special Christmas Punch, and make something sweet, others bring a plate of goodies to share. We play Christmas Carols and have a singalong - everyone puts at least one decoration on the tree. Then when all is ready, we gather around the tree - have a drink and quote Charles Dickens in the Christmas Toast - and with much ceremony and ado - The Angel is carefully placed on top, we turn out the lights and; then light the Christmas tree - to much oohs and aahs. A wonderful night that I look forward to every year and a great way to kick off the silly season

My husband and I have a favorite holiday tradition although our daughter is getting a little old for this. He works for Delta airlines. She always writes Santa a letter. I pretend to mail it but send it to my parents' address. My husband puts all our X-mas presents we get for her in a GIANT red loot bag and tell her that Santa missed our house on X-mas Eve but my husband finds the presents at the baggage carousel X-mas day with a name tag on it. He just pretends to go to the airport on X-mas morning to get her bag when we really have it hidden in the garage.

We buy each of our 3 kids new PJ's for Christmas wrapped in a package that says "open Christmas Eve" It's no surprise by now...but they all love the excitement of getting one present early and of waking up christmas morning in their new pajamas to open presents the next day.

That pile 'o Glitz looks delicious!!

My absolute favorite is putting up the tree because it kicks off all of the other traditions we carry out throughout the season. We always decorate the tree the day after Thanksgiving while we play Christmas music and drink hot chocolate. We also light the fireplace for the first time on this day. We live in Houston, TX so some years that means we also crank the air down to 60 too!

Susie said...

I am not quite sure why this started, but when my son was 3 yrs. old (now 18) he had a broken leg and the doctor let us keep his tiny cast. For some reason my son and husband replaced the "star" on top of the Christmas tree with his cast that year. Now every year it is our family tradition to have the tiny cast crown the top of our Christmas tree. One year awhile back we tried to change that tradition and my son was very upset to think that tradition would ever change. I only hope his cast will hold up over the years as our "star".

My favorite holiday tradition is letting the kids open one gift each on Christmas Eve and then heading to Midnight Mass.

there are lots of family traditions in my family... one of my favorite ones is the food and the preparation of the food. it usually takes about 3 days prior to Xmas Eve to get everything ready. 3 days of yummy ingredients and flavor around the house!

We open one gift on Christmas Eve --usually one from grandparents -- then Christmas morning we open the rest before driving to my Mom's for the rest of the day :)

Wow I bearly made it. I hope I win. All that loot looks so yummy.

My favorite holiday tradition which I started with my kids was baking cookies for Santa. I have a crystal plate that is especially for Santa. Right before bed on Christmas Eve the kids and I bake and decorate cookies for Santa. We leave them under the tree in his crystal plate with a glass of milk and the next morning all that's let are the crumbs and special treats from Santa. I love seeing the look on their face when they realize Santa came.

Hi my beautiful cousin, Erin!! So, now that I live farrr farrr away in WA, I definitely need to win this :) :)

So, my favorite Christmas tradition...hmmm, let's see...
most definitely hiking around the Christmas tree farms until we find the perfect tree to saw down ourselves with a tiny, little, ghetto saw. :) My dad and I used to do this every year on my birthday (because it's so close to Christmas), but now my hubby and I do it!! :)

Kerryn said...

WOW that is awesome! Our tradition is leaving mince pie & milk for santa and outside the kids leave a carrot & water for the reindeer. I love seeing them create the magic of believing in Santa. I hope it doesn't end for many years.

My tradition is...I plant amarilyis bulbs right before Thanksgiving they begin to grow nice tall greens and I use them on the table for centerpice at thanksgiving and by Christmas they are in bloom or just starting to bloom. Just after thanksgiving the paperwhites get planted in several dish gardens (they grow faster) and by christmas they are blooming and they smell divine. Beautiful growth and sent in the middle of winter.

It is just the 2 of us and the dogs - every year we snuggle in front of the tree and watch the really, really old black and white version of A Christmas carol, then go to midnight mass in a Basilica hundreds of years old. We aren't even Catholic but it is just so pretty and moving.

Great, generous giveaway! Thank you!
Our favorite tradition is making goodie plates and taking them to our local elderly care homes to hand out and sing Christmas Carols with other family members! It is such a rewarding tradition and I know that my children learn and grow so much from those experiences.

Our favorite holiday tradition is finding the perfect "Real" tree and then bringing it home to decorate. When we decorate we play Dr. Seus' "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and we sing all the songs out loud. Our girls love it, and it is something we ALL get to do together, regardless of age.

My favorite holiday tradition is the Christmas play we put on at my grandparents house every year with the children of the family playing all of the parts. It's always fun to see the new little babies play Jesus, and watch the older kids sing. I started the tradition when I was 5 years old, and it's still going strong 23 years later!

My favorite tradition is going to midnight mass on Christmas Eve with my family. I love singing Silent Night and Oh Holy Night in the candle light.

Every year on Christmas eve we all open one present, drink cocoa or apple cider and tell the christmas story. My 5 year old loves telling us her christmas wish and my 15 year old pretends not to like it, but he does too.

I think out of all the traditions that we have for Christmas, I loved the years past when the guys were younger and we would spend our Christmas Day feeding homeless men at our local community church. It taught the boys that giving really is what Christmas is all about and that there is true joy in giving of self (presence) to others instead of just receiving their own presents! Blessings, Keleia

This is sort of a new tradition but it's so funny. Whomever says "I don't know" when asked what they want for Christmas receives a set of sheets. It's just funny to see who gets the sheets and to see their face.

This has been my favorite holiday tradition since I was a little girl and it still is to this day! It's our Christmas Eve get together. We usually have it at my parents house or my aunt's house. We all prepare yummy foods and eat until we're all stuffed. We watch A Christmas Story and hang out. Then we open presents, which is still my favorite part LOL I can't wait!!! Thanks for having this giveaway and have a great holiday :)

Honey baked ham, fried chicken, egg salad sandwiches, scalloped potatoes, baked beans, veggie plate, avocado dip, lil BBQ weinies, alpo (velveeta cheese, hamberger, salsa-melted in a crock pot) and lots of cookies, fudge, and a cinnamon/powdered surgar topped sponge square cake.... each year since 1990 my family has had an oyster roast. It is our tradition. Normally it would fall on the Saturday after thanksgiving, but last year we had our first year where the married grandkids had to go to the in-laws so we switched it to two days before christmas. It was a blast, and we will do it again this year. I think it is our new tradition.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your products!!! I first got to see them at Creative Escape and I am kicking myself that I didn't buy more than 1 package of your bling extravaganza. You all rock!!!
My favorite holiday tradition is trimming the tree. Each year my kids get to pick the ornaments they want to put on the tree. Every year, each of them design their own ornament with a message on the inside. The message can be anything they want and we will open them on Christmas Eve and read them outloud. I am amazed at the thoughts and love they put into these. Of course, Christmas music plays in the background and we have hot apple cider or hot cocoa (with extra marshmallows). It is something the kids really look forward to too.
Bless you all this season.

Hmmm...my favorite holiday tradition woulud have to be preparing for Christmas by observing Advent. Each day has a symbol to be pulled from a little pocket and there is a short devotion for each one.

My most favorite holiday tradition that we do is...well....I think I have two, the first one is giving mom a christmas list...it doesn't matter how old we are she still wants a wish list from us...it's so fun to go back and look at what was number one in the previous years, and the second thing is even though my sisters and I are in our 20's....Santa still comes for us, and we still wake up at 4 in the morning!!!

FUN!!!
