I wish i could be there ,it sounds like an awesom event. I live in northwest Louisiana so its too far to commute.I'm really not sure where this is but i know it's not close. I hope you post more about it. thanks, ms.cheryl
Hi Ms. Cheryl! We'll miss you but love that you want to be there with us! The event is taking place at HIgley High School in Arizona. I know that Jenny Shomaker(planning the event) has put a lot of time and effort into making this event something really special! I'll be sure to take lots of pics so you can feel like you were there with us!!:)
Wow, so many weekend events and traveling out of state and the country...how do you ladies possibly keep your families your first priority? Two weekends in a row of being away from your children??? Hmmm, sounds like Glitz Design is becoming #1 and you ladies are trying to convince yourselves and the public different.
It's so great and such a blessing that there are 3 of us running this business along with wonderful employees! We also have such amazing, supportive husbands who are great Dads! We're lucky that we don't have to travel that much! This event on Saturday is going to be a blast! Everybody come on down...it's going to be so much fun! Girls of all ages are welcome...bring your daughters!
Someone forwarded me this article about Project Pink! Gives some great background on the whole event and the why and what and stuff. http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/story/135953
It's going to be GREAT-I can't wait to see how it all turns out. Sounds like it will be inspiring for all us gals out there. And it's ages 6+ which is cool.. make it a family event with just the ladies of the house of course!! :)
The article also says that the Fathers are welcome...along with families! So bring your families too if you can!!! There will be some awesome speakers about helping with self-esteem!
i think it's fabulous all of the things you guys have the blessing to help & be involved in. you are making such a difference in the lives of families in your community! thanks for all you do, and the examples you are to others! {{hugs}}
It was so great to meet you ladies and your beautiful families at Project Pink! Thanks for sharing your amazing stories and inspiration! My daughters and I loved your class! You ladies are a great example! Thanks again!!!
What a fantastic event. If I lived closer I would be there. This is in line with what I teach/share when mentoring girls/women. I LOVE this project and wish we had it in every city. Thanks for sponsoring such a great event!
I think it takes a talented and energetic woman to successfully raise a family and build a successful business. You girls are doing great! Sometimes it's hard for people to see you be successful in all areas of your life when they seem to be struggling. Way to go--we love you!
Well, I again have to laugh at your great "ANONYMOUS"cyber stalkers who think no one knows who they are! Odd that they also have no awareness of laws against slander & stalking. I guess some people have to learn the hard way huh! Ms. Anonymous only serves to makes herself look jealous and hateful- those of us who are blessed to have you in our lives as a friend or business associate know that nothing in your lives comes before your family. Nothing but good comes from a well balanced family and work life- we are all proud of what you have built for yourselves! GO GLITZ!
That looks like a fun event! I wish I lived closer too! I'm really impressed with you ladies and how much you do to help others. Actions speak louder than words! You are such an example to all of us who admire you so much. Your families come first and it shows.
WTG Glitz Gals & Project Pink! What a neat way to teach your family members by joining in this activity together! Just for the poster ANONYMOUS let's put a line in here, apparently the concept was missed "...event geared to alter the way girls and women view themselves. INSECURITY, COMPARISON, and Self-doubt are learned behaviors. Let's LEARN something DIFFERENT. It's time to LOVE, & CELEBRATE ourselves, own our TRUE IDENTITY, HONOR our GIFTS, & DO THE SAME FOR OTHERS". I did take license to capitalize what should be focused on; I didn't see a way to boldface in the comments. :-D
What better way to do all of these things than to do what you love for your job making an income that helps your family than what the Glitz Gals do, & helping others to focus on their families as they use the various products that Glitz markets. To be able to do what fulfills you as a person & help others while making so many great friends along the way is an incredible example to your children also. To see women being fulfilled creatively while taking care of their families & taking your families with you for so many of these wonderful events is marvelous.
Personally I cannot speak for all of the Glitz Gals because so far I only know Laura personally from back in the late 1990's when we were neighbors & our children played together often. I can tell you that through the years that I have known Laura her children have always been her top priority, regardless of any other activity she is involved in, they come first. This includes all children she is responsible for regardless of how they have come into her life. I am the mother of a blended family as well & I know the challenges that can come with this, she handles those challenges beautifully, I hope to do as stellar of a job as she does.
Balancing a family and career is always a challenge, but if we don't face challenges in this life how will we ever grow or learn what we are truly capable of. Besides that what do we teach our children if we don't show them that challenges something to embrace in life, they teach us so much! We may not want to go through every challenge we have faced a 2nd time in life but I wouldn't wish them away because of what I have learned by going through them.
So personally Glitz Gals I thank you and applaud you for putting your lives out there on a blog where we can all see what you are doing with your business & personal lives to inspire the rest of us to get involved with a cause, an idea, or just to get involved with our children & preserving the memories of every wonderful or just day to day stuff that happens. My kids range from 2-17 years old & nothing makes you realize how quickly they grow than knowing you have a child turning 18 this year becoming an adult, & leaving home! So take your kids out to do something with Project Pink, a shelter, camping, or just bake at home with them & photograph it while you can, then sit down & scrapbook it so the kids can go back & enjoy the memories with you while they still live under the same roof! And all that petty stuff, just ignore those who are insanely jealous! ;-)
