Glittering Maya with Christine Penaflor

Good morning! It's Christine again, and I'm here to share a couple of cards I designed using one of my favorite scrapbooking collections from Glitz Design...the Maya collection!
HiCard

This first card was created using the Maya Polka (M2297) patterned paper. I cut a piece of it and stitched a border using my sewing machine. I used a Fiskars border punch to create a decorative border but instead of using the pink patterned side of the paper, I used the dark blue side for the border on the right. I love the fact that these Glitz papers are double sided and have coordinating colors and patterns on each side! I cut another rectangular piece of the dark blue paper and embossed it with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. This embossed piece was adhered to the white cardstock base on the left.

Next, I adhered a small green ribbon tab to the top left portion of the pink patterned paper, and layered it with a white doily and a flower sticker from the Maya Accents (C2495) sticker sheet. The flower was  embellished with a few pink and clear Glitz frosting rhinestones (F2839) as well as Diamond Stickles glitter glue on the leaves.

After adhering the patterned paper to the card base, I adhered a transparent Maya Glitzers frame sticker onto the pink side of the Maya Floral (M2266) paper, and cut around the frame. I adhered chipboard letters embellished with Diamond Stickles inside of the frame for the sentiment. This frame was then adhered to the front of the card to complete it.

This next card is a fun shaped card that I cut using a Teresa Collins 5x7 chipboard album cover as a template. I used the album cover again to cut a piece of Maya Polka (M2297) patterned paper for the background, and then adhered the paper to the card base. I adhered letters from the Glitz Design Pink Block Teeny Alpha (C2815) sticker set for the sentiment onto dark blue cardstock. The sentiment was then adhered to glittered chipboard from Prima.

After adhering the picot trimmed sheer ribbon along the left edge of the Maya Polka paper, I added a length of white lace onto the card front. The chipboard letter was painted with Magenta Shimmerz paint, and the outside frame of the Tattered Angels chipboard piece was embellished with Diamond Stickles. This chipboard piece was adhered to the card front and a length of crinkled seam binding was made into a bow and embellished with a rolled flower to complete the card.

Thank you for joining us this morning, and I hope you have a blessed week!
