Love FUDGE!!!!! Only have it once a year!!! That's a GOOD thing!! LOL! Not at liberty to give the recipe out, sorry!! But it is the BEST!!!!! I make for family, friends, co workers and of course....ME!!!!! Takes all day in the kitchen! If I made it any more than once a year, I would have arms like Popeyes!!!!!!

Homemade fudge is my favorite holiday treat. It is oh so easy to make to. A package of chocolate chips melted in a double broiler. Remove from heat and add a can of sweetened condensed milk, a teaspoon of vanilla and a dash of salt. Stir quickly then dump into a waxed paper lined cookie sheet. Top with another sheet of waxed paper and put in the fridge for a while until it hardens. Then cut into squares. Seriously the fastest treat and SOOOO delicious! THanks for the chance to win such a wonderful stocking of goodies!

Here is a favorite my kids love!!! I can change this up for a Christmas treat too! Where I add some semi-sweet choc chips on top...around Christmas time I add Peppermint patties chopped up and peppermint stick finely chopped to add a little color!!!

I love to improvise when it comes to cooking and baking. Being a mother to 6 kids I've had to learn how to make things stretch...or be different. So I would like to share my cupcake brownies with you. First make a brownie mix for a 13x9 pan size, sometimes called family size. After mixing together set aside. Whip out the cupcake tin. I use this because, 1) individual, same size brownies and 2) They seem to cook better than in an 13x9 pan. Place your cupcake liners into the pan, fill the cups about 3/4 of the way with the brownie mix. Then mix one 8oz. bar of cream cheese softened, 1/4 cup of sugar, 1 egg and 1 teaspoon off vanilla extract till well blended. Spoon cream cheese mixture over the brownie mixture. Dabble a few semi sweet chocolate morsels on top. Bake at 350 for about 30 to 37 minutes. You want the cream cheese to set and brown a little before you remove from oven. Let cool right in the cupcake tin, or remove carefully with a spoon slid down the edge of tin. And Enjoy!!! You can add walnuts to brownie mix or put on top with choc. morsels. Everyone loves these!!

here is the recipe:
8cup flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp. all spice
(sift all of these ingredients together)
3/4 cup water
1 Tablespoon Rum Flavor
2 tsp. baking soda
2 Cup molasses
1 cup shortening
2 cup sugar

Cream shortening and sugar. Then add other wet ingredients. Then add sifted ingredients, mix well. chill for at least 3 hours. then roll out on floured surface 1/4" thick. Cut with cookie cutters. Cook for 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Don't over cook, my favorite is when they are soft in the middle and a little firm on the outside edges.

My family LOVES these cookies. It's a recipe from Gold Medal Flour.

Rainbow Sprinklers

• 1 ½ cups sugar
• ½ cup (1 stick) margarine or butter, softened
• ½ cup shortening
• 2 eggs
• 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
• 2 tsp cream of tartar
• 1 tsp baking soda
• ¼ tsp salt
• Colored sugar

Heat oven to 400°. Stir sugar, margarine, shortening and eggs in large bowl until mixed. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Roll balls in colored sugar until coated. Put about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden and cracked on top. Right away, take cookies off cookie sheet. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.

I usually do not win these types of things, but I couldnt resist trying again! that stocking itself is ALL sorts of yummy regardless of the inside contents.. Those are just the icing on the cake hehe!!
Anyway, We make fudge every year for Christmas. Its my husbands favorite. I of course need to try it 3 or 4 times before I get it right! Hoping this year its one time. I am so ready for CHristmas!!!

2. Chocolate Fudge (8oz choc. chips, one can sweetened condensed milk and some vanilla extract, combined and chilled)
3. Russian Tea Cakes (also called Mexican Wedding Cakes) -- to which I can't find my recipe!! :( Time to call Mom.....

Another giveaway, how fun and thank you. We spend Christmas every year at my inlaws and my father-in-law makes the yummiest treats, which I only get then. One is fudge and the other are these yummy cookies rolled in powdered sugar that just melt in your mouth. You cannot eat just one. I have to literally leave the room. :-)

Pumpkin Gooey Butter CakesPrep Time: 30 min Inactive Prep Time: hr min Cook Time: 50 min Level:
Easy Serves:
6 to 8 servings Cake:
1 (18 1/4-ounce) package yellow cake mix
1 egg
8 tablespoons butter, melted
Filling:
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (15-ounce) can pumpkin
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
8 tablespoons butter, melted
1 (16-ounce) box powdered sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine the cake mix, egg, and butter and mix well with an electric mixer. Pat the mixture into the bottom of a lightly greased 13 by 9-inch baking pan.

To make the filling: In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and pumpkin until smooth. Add the eggs, vanilla, and butter, and beat together. Next, add the powdered sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and mix well. Spread pumpkin mixture over cake batter and bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Make sure not to overbake as the center should be a little gooey.

Serve with fresh whipped cream.

Variations: For a Pineapple Gooey Cake: Instead of the pumpkin, add a drained 20-ounce can of crushed pineapple to the cream cheese filling. Proceed as directed above.

For a Banana Gooey Cake: Prepare cream cheese filling as directed, beating in 2 ripe bananas instead of the pumpkin. Proceed as directed above.

For a Peanut Butter Gooey Cake: Use a chocolate cake mix. Add 1 cup creamy peanut butter to the cream cheese filling instead of the pumpkin. Proceed as directed above.

Okay, my favorite treats for the holidays are my mom's peanut butter bon-bons (she just rolls peanut butter into balls and dips them into melted chocolate w/wax..yummo) and my mom's chocolate fudge. Everyone is always commenting on how she makes the BEST fudge, and when I asked her for the recipe, she let me in on a little secret...she just follows the recipe on the back of the Marshmallow Creme jar! LOL

My favorite treat personally is my fudge! Its a tempting treat and very temperamental but worth it.

FANTASY FUDGE

3 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
2/3 c. Evap. Milk
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
2 1/4 c. marshmallow creme
1 tsp. REAL vanilla
scant of salt
Nuts are optional. I make 1/2 and 1/2

Combine sugar, butter and milk in heavy 2 1/2 quart saucepan; bring to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Boil for a FULL 5 minutes over medium heat, (do not miss even 30 seconds of this 5 minutes and do nor scorch either) stirring constantly to prevent scorching. Remove from heat; stir in chocolate pieces until melted. Add marshmallow creme, vanilla; beat until well blended. Pour into greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Cool at room temperature; cut into squares.
I add Nuts to the top but you can add them during if you like.

Sometimes I make a batch of PB fudge and layer on top!

It only takes one piece and you are full of rich gooey chocolate!

Seven Layer Magic Bars

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)
1/2 cup butter
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups butterscotch chips
1 cup flaked coconut
1 cup salted peanuts
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

DIRECTIONS
Melt the butter or margarine in a saucepan. Mix with the graham cracker crumbs. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch pan.
Layer the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, coconut, and peanuts over the graham cracker crust. Pour the condensed milk over the layers.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool. Cut into bars.


These are yummy!

I must admit that is a year-round treat, but my favorite and we will definitely have it for the hoidays. Butterscotch cake...Make instant vanilla pudding according to box directions. Mix in a box of yellow cake mix. Pour into a greased 9X13 baking pan. Top with an entire bag of butterscotch chips and bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes. This is so easy and SO delicious!

One of my favorite treats is Tillie's Pumpkin Bread

1 cup olive oil or vegetable oil
3 cups granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 2/3 cup solid-pack pumpkin
3 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons nutmeg
2 teaspoons ginger
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)


1. Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly grease three 9-by-5-inch loaf pans.
2. Beat olive oil, sugar, eggs and pumpkin together with an electric mixer.
3. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, salt, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. Add to sugar mixture a little at a time, beating on slow speed. Stir in nuts if using.
4. Fill pans 1/2 full. Bake 1 hour.
Note: If you prefer to make cupcakes, pour batter into muffin tins and bake 55 minutes. Serves 30.

I know that's not a recipe, but that's just as easy as it is!

What a lovely treat that stocking is! One of my favorite holiday treats is a dried apricot, stuffed with an uncooked almond, wrapped in 1/4 slice of thin bacon, baked for about 15 mins. I literally can make myself ill eating these. I like them with coffee. okiegrandma/sb.com

I love my grandmother's Hershey Kiss cookies.

Here is the recipe:

2 2/3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
2/3 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Additional sugar
5 dozen kisses, unwrapped

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.


In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and baking soda. Add butter and peanut butter and mix until smooth. Add sugars and beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and mix until smooth.


Make balls out of level tablespoons of dough - add flour if needed. Roll in sugar.


Bake 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet for 8 minutes.


Remove from oven and add 1 kiss to the center of each cookie. Return to the oven and bake for 2 more minutes.


Cool and enjoy.

Here's a wonderful recipe that you can't go wrong with if you like peanut butter & chocolate!! I got this from allrecipes.com

Smooth & Creamy Peanut Butter Pie

3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1 (3 oz) package cream cheese
1 1/4 cups confectioners sugar
1 (12 oz) container frozen whipped topping (thawed)
1 9" prepared chocolate cookie crumb crust

In a large bowl, mix together peanut butter, cream cheese and sugar. Then stir whipped topping into peanut butter mixture. Whisk until smooth and no lumps remain. Pour filling into pie crust and refrigerate for about 3 hours until pie is firm.

I also drizzled hot fudge topping over the top to make it look pretty.

Very yummy!!!

My favourite treats are Horns of Plenty. They are a bit finicky to make but oh so good.

4 eggs
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp boiling water
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder

Mix eggs and sugar. Add water. Add flour & baking powder. Mix well. Spoon on to baking sheet. Place in mid oven near to the top. Cook for 5 1/2 minutes.

Remove while hot. Pinch one end. Hold together with toothpick until cool. You have to work quickly to get them pinched. Once they start to cool they crack instead of bend.

Working in small batches is best.

Serve with whipped cream & maraschino cherries or strawberries.

I love to make pretzels dipped in almond bark and drizzled with chocolate... Another yummy treat is to dip large marshmallows in almond bark. They are delish... but not nearly as yummy as that stocking full of goodness....

My favorite holiday treat and recipe is Peanut Butter Kisses. I have been making these treats around the holidays for work parties, friends, etc. They are always a hit and people are always asking "Who made the peanut butter things?" I have never met anyone that did not like them. My kids love them too! I hope you love this recipe as much as I love your products. I wish there were local scrapbook stores close to me that sell your stuff. Since there is not, I would Love to win. I am a huge fan. If you come to Tx again I would love to take a class. Here is the recipe -
1 cup of sugar, 1 cup white Karo syrup, 1 - 18oz crunchy peanut butter, 4 cups Special K Cereal, 1 bag of chocolate kisses.
1. unwrap the kisses and put them aside - I usually unwrap 40 since I make my scoops small.
2. combine sugar and karo in a deep pot and let it melt.
3. Add the peanut butter to the sugar and karo mixture and let it boil.
4. once it begins to boil, stir in the Special K.
5.When the Special K is stirred in, spoon out small portions onto wax paper while the mixture is still hot.
6. Let the portions cool most of the way and then put the kisses upside down in the middle of the peanut butter portions. If you put the kisses on too soon while the portions are hot, the kisses will melt too much. The kids love doing the upside down kisses.
Enjoy the recipe. It makes great gifts for friends, neighbors and teachers. I think it is because nobody has really ever had anything like it. I hope I win the awesome stocking full of goodies!!!!

THAT SWEET STUFF IS SIMPLY STUNNING! CROSSING MY FINGERS and my eyes .. if I eat too much of htis stuff ..... Chocolate pecan burbon cake... yummers!

CHOCOLATE PECAN BURBON CAKE

Ingredients
vegetable oil or cooking spray
1/4 cup pecans (1 oz.)
3 tbsp. all-purpose flour
3 oz. bittersweet or semisweet chocolate (chopped fine)
1/2 cup unsweetened Dutch process cocoa powder
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup boiling water
2 egg yolks
1 tbsp. bourbon
4 egg whites, room temperature
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
2 to 3 tsp. powdered sugar

Step 1:
Position oven rack in the bottom third of the oven and preheat oven to 375°F. Spray the bottom and sides of an 8 x 2-1/2-in. springform pan lightly with vegetable oil spray.

Step 2:
In a food processor or blender, pulverize pecans and flour until the mixture has the texture of fine meal. Set aside.

In a large bowl, combine chocolate, cocoa powder, and 3/4 cup sugar. Add boiling water; whisk until chocolate is melted. Whisk in egg yolks and bourbon. Set aside.


Step 3:
Combine egg whites with cream of tartar in a medium-size bowl. Beat at medium speed until soft peaks form. Gradually sprinkle in remaining sugar and beat at high speed until the mixture is stiff but not dry. Whisk flour and pecans into chocolate mixture. Fold 1/4 of egg whites into chocolate mixture to lighten it, then fold in remaining egg whites. Scrape batter into prepared pan.

Step 4:
Bake 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs clinging to it. Cool in the pan on a wire rack. It will sink like a soufflé, and the top crust may be broken. Cake may be stored at room temperature for one day before serving.

Step 5:
To unmold and serve: Detach cake from the pan by sliding a small knife around the perimeter. Release the spring; remove the pan sides. Leave cake on the bottom of the pan and transfer it to a serving dish. Sieve powdered sugar very lightly over the top.

Okay my friend & I just perfected this one today! It's a peppermint chip cookie inspired by the Otis Spunkmeyer cookie out this year.

5 Cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 cups butter, margarine, or butter crisco
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 teaspoons peppermint extract
12oz bag of peppermnt crunch baking chips (Andes makes them)
12oz bag of white chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 300°F.

In medium bowl combine flour, soda, and salt. Mix well with whisk. Set aside.

In a your mixer blend the sugars together, add the butter (or crisco & water 2 Tablespoons of water to 1 cup of butter flavored crisco). After it is blended, about 1-2 minutes, scrape the sides of the bowl. Add eggs & extract, mix on medium speed until blended, do not overmix.

Add the flour mixture, after blended add chocolate chips and blend at low speed until fully combined.

Drop by spoonful on ungreased cookie sheet,, 2 inches apart. Bake for 16-20 minutes or until goldern brown. Let sit on pan for 2 minutes, then transfer to cooling racks with a spatula or cookie lifter.

*If you cannot find the peppermint baking chips Andes also sales a peppermint mint candy several in a bag, chop these up & add. If you can't find the candy do what we did, crush up candy canes/peppermint sticks, spread out on wax paper in a shallow tupperware tray, then melt white chocolate (Wiltons' are great for this) and spread over the peppermint, cool (in the fridge works), & chop up into baking chip size morsels. If you do the white chocolate & peppermint sticks chips yourself omit the white chocolate chips from the recipe, it's enough white chocolate.

Aussie Christmas Rum Balls

9 Vita Brits or Weet-Bix
1/2 cup coconut
1 cup chopped raisins (optional)
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 (400 g) can condensed milk
3 tablespoons bundaberg rum (dark rum)
extra coconut or chocolate sprinkles

Mix together well in a bowl.
Cover in the fridge for ½ hour. (That's what we do in Australia.).
(Yours could probably sit in the bowl in the snow.).
Shape into balls and roll in coconut or chocolate sprinkles.

Christmas Cookies. I make tons of different cookies, frosted sugar, spritz, chocolate chip, chocolate chocolate chip, toffee bars, fudge. I can feel the pounds! LOL

My something isn't something sweet, but my fave holiday time snack we call Polish mistakes (hope that doesn't offend anyone)

1 pound of hot sausage
1 pound of ground beef
1/2-1 big box of velveeta
oregano to taste (I use a tsp or so)
Rye party bread

Brown the meat, add the oregano and velveeta. Mix til melted and well mixed.

spread on the rye party bread. You can eat them now, or they freeze great and just reheat when you are ready to serve them.

My favorite treat is my mom's Chocolate Mint Buttercreams. I don't have the recipe with me right now but it basically has a cream center made out of butter, sweetened condensed milk, powder sugar, and whatever flavoring- we prefer mint. Form into balls after chilling. Then freeze balls. Dip by toothpick in melted chocolate and parifin wax. yummy.

I always make the caramel dipped pretzel rods. I dip them in home made caramel, roll them in pecans, and then drizzle milk chocolate and white chocolate on them. They are so yummy!

Someone just posted this receipe on ckmb the other day and it sounds scrumptions-I can't wait to try it.
Take a round or little or criscut pretzel put a rolo candy on top and place in oven for a few minutes to melt then top it off with a pecan when it comes out smooshing down the chocolate a little. They said it taste just like a turtle candy. YUMMO!

My mom has made cornflake holly for years and now my kids love it.

Cornflake Holly
1 stick of butter/margerine
1 package of marshmallows
1 tsp of vanilla
3 cups of corn flakes
green food dye
little cinnamon candies

First get some wax paper and spread it out to put them on. Melt the butter, add the marshmallows and put them in the microwave for about 2 minutes to get them nice and gooey add the green food coloring and the vanilla. Then add the corn flakes and stir really good. Place a spoonful at a time on the wax paper and put 3-4 cinnamon candies on top (best to have 2 people doing this...the kids love to put on the candies). Let cool and eat and eat and eat! Merry Christmas. You guys rock for doing this. I have one of the Glitz rollers and I love it!!!!!

We love a good cheese ball and crackers! The best recipe is:
2 8oz cream cheese
1 jar old american cheese (the little Kraft jars by the can cheese)
1 jar blue cheese (again, the little Kraft jars
2tsp tababsco sauce
Garlic salt to taste.

Soften cheeses, mix together well. Put in fridge to set. Roll into two balls. Roll each ball in crushed walnuts. Wrap in celophane and refridgerate or freeze till use. So very yummy!

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
1 cup shelled pistachio nuts (about 1/2 pound in shell)
12 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
8 ounces white chocolate, chopped
3/4 cup dried, sweetened cranberries
1. Heat the oven to 350° and lightly toast the pistachio nuts on a baking sheet, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Let the nuts cool.

2. Melt the semisweet chocolate in the top of a double boiler set over simmering water, stirring until smooth. Or microwave it, in a dry microwave-safe bowl, uncovered, on medium power for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring once. Remove the chocolate from the microwave and stir until smooth. Melt the white chocolate separately, following the same directions.

3. In a small bowl, combine the nuts and cranberries, then stir half of them into the semisweet chocolate. Using a spatula, spread the mixture to about a 1/2-inch thickness on a large cookie sheet. Drop the white chocolate by tablespoonfuls over the dark. With the tip of a butter knife, swirl the chocolates together to create a marbled effect. Sprinkle on the rest of the nuts and berries.

4. Refrigerate the bark for about 1 hour or until firm, then break it into pieces. Store the bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a month. Makes about 1 3/4 pounds.

A simple one for you. Buy the peanut butter cookie dough in the roll from the supermarkt. Slice and bake. As soon as you remove from oven, push one of the mini Reese's peanut butter cups down into the center. Just that simple.

Here is my favorite recipe, Double Decker Fudge...
My mom got this recipe off of a Reese's Peanut Butter chip bag about 20 years ago (oh man, I think I just dated myself, lol!).

2 cups (12 oz pkg)peanut butter chips, divided
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/5 cup baking cocoa
1 tsp vanilla
4 1/2 cups sugar
1 jar marshmallow creme
1 1/2 cups (12 oz can) evaporated milk
1/4 cup butter

1.Line a 13x9 pan with foil. place 1 cup peanut butter chips in med bowl; set aside. In second med bowl, blend 1/4 cup melted butter, cocoa and vanilla till smooth; add 1 cup peanut butter chips.
2.In heavy 4-qt saucepan, combine sugar, marshmallow creme, evaporated milk and 1/4 cup butter. Cook, stirring constantly, over med heat till mixture comes to a rolling boil; boil and stir 5 mins.
3.Remove from heat. Immediately add half of hot mixture to bowl with peanut butter chips only. Pour remainder into cocoa mixture; stir to blend.
4.Beat peanut butter mixture until chips are completely melted; spread evenly in prepared pan.
5.Beat cocoa mixture until chips are melted and mixture thickens. Spread evenly over top on peanut butter layer.
6.Cool; remove from pan. Remove foil; cut into squares.

That is directly from the recipe off of the bag! It seems difficult, but is really easy and SO YUMMY!! I tried to find the recipe online, and it is not available. They have one like it, but it is nothing like this one, trust me on that, lol!!

My kids love to help me bake cookies. I have a holiday cookies recipe book and we try making different cookies every year. We've baked shortbread, ginger cookies, Swedish tea cookies and the traditional sugar cookies.

I think the kids love making sugar cookies the most.. because they get to decorate with icing and sprinkles. The decorating part is almost as important as the cookies! :)

Oreo Truffles

1 pkg.(18oz) Oreo cookies
1 pkg.(8oz) Cream Cheese
1 lb Alpine White Milk Chocolate Wafers (You find them at Michaels/Hobby Lobby or a cake place)

Crush 9 of the cookies to fine crumbs;reserve for later use. Crush remaining cookies to fine crumbs; place in medium bowl. Add cream cheese; mix until well blended. Roll cookie mixture into about 40 balls, 1 inch diameter. Dip balls in chocolate, place on parchment paper. Sprinkle with reserved cookie crumbs. Refrigerate 1 hour, store in refrigerator covered.

I got this one online from a girlfriends blog. Peppermint Cookie Crunch Bark.

1 lb. white chocolate melts
1/2 cup of peppermint crunch
1/2 cup of crushed oreos

Directions:
put white chocolate melts in a Pyrex dish and melt for 30 seconds and then mix. Continue to melt in 15 seconds increments until chocolate is smooth.
add crushed oreos and peppermint crunch and mix thoroughly.
lay out on waxed paper and spread out evenly to a 1/4 in thick layer.
let dry and harden for 45 minutes.
break up into pieces and eat.

I actually use white chocolate chips though because those are easier for me to find and I think they melt quicker! :D

Ingredients:

2/3 cup hazelnuts
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
6 oz fine-quality bittersweet
chocolate (no more than 60% cacao if marked), finely chopped
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1/4 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3/4 cup confectioners sugar


Special equipment: parchment paper

PreparationMake dough:
Put oven rack in middle position and preheat oven to 350°F.

Toast hazelnuts in a shallow baking pan in oven until skins split and nuts are pale golden, about 10 minutes. Remove from oven (turn oven off), then wrap hazelnuts in a kitchen towel and rub to remove any loose skins. Cool nuts completely. Pulse nuts with granulated sugar in a food processor until finely chopped.

Melt chocolate in a metal bowl set over a saucepan of barely simmering water or in top of a double boiler, stirring until smooth. Remove bowl from heat and set aside.

Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.

Beat together butter and brown sugar in another bowl with an electric mixer at medium-high speed until creamy, about 3 minutes. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each addition, then beat in melted chocolate until combined. Add milk and vanilla, beating to incorporate. Reduce speed to low and add flour mixture, mixing until just combined. Stir in nut mixture. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and chill dough until firm, 2 to 3 hours.

Form and bake cookies:
Put oven racks in upper and lower thirds of oven and preheat oven to 350°F. Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper.

Sift confectioners sugar into a bowl. Halve dough and chill 1 half, wrapped in plastic wrap. Roll remaining half into 1-inch balls, placing them on a sheet of wax paper as rolled. Roll balls, 3 or 4 at a time, in confectioners sugar to coat generously and arrange 2 inches apart on lined baking sheets.

Bake, switching position of sheets halfway through baking, until cookies are puffed and cracked and edges feel dry (but centers are still slightly soft), 12 to 18 minutes total. Transfer cookies (still on parchment) to racks to cool completely.

While first batch is baking, roll remaining dough into balls. Line cooled cookie sheets with fresh parchment, then coat balls with confectioners sugar and bake in same manner.


I also love Chocolate Rasberry Macaroons, Chocolate Hazelnut Shortbread cookies, and chocolate lace cookies (almost all recipes can be found on epicurious.com)

So I noticed that everyone else went ahead and put their recipes on here so I will do the same. It may seem long but it's worth it!!

Russian Tea Cakes… with a twist.

1 cup of very soft butter. Not just room temp. Almost to the point that it’s melting.
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
6 tablespoons of confectioners’ sugar
2 cups all-purpose four
1 cup finely chopped pecans
1/3 (or more) cup of confectioners’ sugar for decoration
A mix of 1 cup confectioners’ sugar and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon spice blend. I use cinna-plus from Pampered Chef.


Preheat over to 350

Combine butter and vanilla, mix/cream until smooth.
In separate bowl mix together flour and 6 tablespoons of confectioners’ sugar then stir into the butter mixture until JUST blended.
(do not over mix)
Stir in pecans.
Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place 2 inched apart on a ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 11-13 min until the bottoms of the cookies are slightly brown.

Before cookies are totally cooled off roll them in the cinnamon/sugar mixture. The sugar should melt a little.

Once totally cooled roll once more in the regular confectioners’ sugar.

I have a couple of favorite holiday treats. Number one is the all time best ever rice krispy treats! When I make these, I literally have to hide the pan from myself, otherwise I'll eat the entire pan! :) Another favorite is the Reeses peanut butter cookie cups. These are SO EASY to make. You take a 12 cup (or 24 cup) mini muffin pan and get the mini muffin cup cake wrappers and get some peanut butter cookie dough (store bought) and you take a bit of dough and roll it up into a ball and place in the little cups. Set the timer and as soon as these little cups come out you take a reeses peanut butter cup (unwrapped) and immediately place in the center of the little cookie cup and push all the way down inside the cookie. These were a HUGE hit on Thanksgiving!

Cream:

Oh wow look at that stocking that is awesome.....Lets See my favorite holiday treat is cowboy cookies, my kids beg for them, and that is what they leave "Santa" every year. My Grandmother and Mother used to make them for us at Christmas time it was always a special treat

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease baking sheets. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Gradually stir in the sifted ingredients. Stir in the rolled oats and chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before removing.

Okay, so I'm not a chef. I don't even use recipes. SO this is probably not the right "format" but this is my favorite appetizer (or even a whole meal!)

Super Easy Stromboli

Take a premade pizza crust (either make your own or buy a premade one) and roll it out not too thin.

Now, you can fill it with whatever you want. My favorites are cream cheese with ham and cheese, or pizza sauce and pepperoni and cheese. Shredded cheese melts better. I usually spread the sauce first, then layer on the goodies. Make sure you only fill one side of the crust (one half) and leave the very edges clear.

Once your goodies are piled in, fold the pizza crust over and pinch the edges sealed.

Brush egg white on the top, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese or left over shredded cheese and maybe some rosemary or some other herb you like.

You can store it in this state until you are ready to bake it.
Bake at 375 until the edges start to brown.

If you are making it as an appetizer, you can make smaller ones by dividing up the crust first.

When it is finished baking, cut into slices.

I LOVE sweets for sure! My favorite though,is pecan pie cookies, I make them every year! They taste just like pecan pie, in one portable, non-messy bite!

1 cup butter or margarine, softened

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup powdered sugar
3 tablespoons dark corn syrup

1. Beat 1 cup butter and sugar at medium speed with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add 1/2 cup corn syrup and egg yolks, beating well. Gradually stir in flour; cover and chill 1 hour.
2. Melt 1/4 cup butter in a heavy saucepan over medium heat; stir in powdered sugar and 3 tablespoons corn syrup. Cook, stirring often, until mixture boils. Remove from heat. Stir in pecans; chill 30 minutes. Shape mixture by 1/2 teaspoonfuls into 1/4-inch balls; set aside.
3. Shape cookie dough into 1-inch balls; place 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheets. Beat egg whites until foamy; brush on dough balls.
4. Bake at 375*F (190*C) for 6 minutes. Remove from oven, and place pecan balls in center of each cookie. Bake 8 to 10 more minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes on baking pans; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Freeze up to 1 month, if desired.

Makes 4 1/2 dozen.

1 1/2 c coconut
1 1/2 c chopped pecans

How can it be Christmas without homemade peanut patties? In fact, I'm making them for a Christmas party on Friday night.


Microwave Peanut Patties
In a large glass bowl add:
2 c sugar
1/2 c water
1/4 c evaperated milk
1/2 c karo
Cook on high 5 minutes
Stir in 1 1/2 c raw peanuts
Cook on high 8 minutes
Add 3 TBLS butter
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp butter extract
dash salt
3 drops red food coloring
Beat a long time until thick
Drop by tablespoon on buttered sheet to cool

Pumpkin Delight

Mix together:
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
30 oz. canned pumpkin (no spices added)

Add and mix together:
1 can evaporated Milk
1 T cinnamon
1/2 T ginger
1/2 T cloves

Pour into greased 9x13 pan sprinkle 1 box of Jiffy yellow cake mix on top. Drizzle 1 stick of melted butter over top. Top with chopped walnuts. (recipe says 1/2 cup but I like lots of nuts so I just cover the top with nuts)

Bake 375 degree for 1 hour , check with toothpick - if it come out clean, it is done. Serve with whip cream.
This has become a holiday staple for our family. Taste great hot or cold.

Wow! Two stockings full of sparkly cheer? It doesn't get any better than this! Here is the complicated recipe for my yummy Diet Coke Cupcakes!

One Can of Diet Coke
One Box of your favorite chocolate cake mix (I use Pillsbury low-sugar Devil's Food Cake)

Dump cake mix into a bowl.
Pour Diet Coke over cake mix.
Stir until thoroughly moistened.
Pour into baking cups.
Bake for 18-20 minutes at 350 degrees.
Dust with a sprinkle of powdered sugar being sure to lay a punched image in the middle of the cupcake to create a stencil so it looks like you slaved for hours.

These are my husbands favorite cupcakes! Seriously - they are wicked crazy good!

A favorite of ours is pumpkin pie cake, here's the recipe:
1 29oz can pumpkin

4 eggs slightly beaten

1 ½ cup sugar

3 tsp. pumpkin pie spice

1 tsp. salt

2 13 oz cans evaporated milk

1 spice cake mix ( I have used French vanilla also, or white, yellow)

1 cup butter melted

1 cup chopped pecans

Cool whip



Mix first 6 ingredients together in bowl. Pour into 9x13 greased and floured pan. Crumble cake mix over top , drizzle cake mix with melted butter. Sprinkle nuts over top. Bake at 350 for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Garnish with cool whip to serve. (place in fridge)

At our house the holidays are not complete without two items. The first is stroopwaffles (at Christmas) and ollie bollen (at New Year's). Both of these are Dutch desserts. I have grown up eating stoopwaffles and ollie bollen. It is hard to find a really good recipe for either; they are highly guarded. A stroopwaffle is a cookie that has been cooked in a special waffle iron, removed and sliced in half while still hot, a special syrup mixture added to the middle, and then put back together. Once cooled, these are the most delicious cookies ever. I dare to say they are Santa's favorite.

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
40 miniature Reese's cups
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream peanut butter, butter, and both types of sugar together. Add egg, vanilla, flour, baking soda and salt. Mix all of these ingredients well. Roll into small balls that fill the openings in a small muffin pan about 2/3 full. Place into greased small muffin pan.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Have candy unwrapped and place one Reese's cup into the middle of each cookie as soon as you remove them from the oven. Makes approximately 40 cookies. Enjoy!
NOTE~If you don't have a lot of time to make the cookie dough from scratch, you can just purchase the cookie dough at the supermarket

I can't remember the whole recipe, but you use braunswager (sp?), mayo, garlic powder, onion, pickle relish, and I'm sure there is more in it...you mix it up good and it is delish on crackers! This is my fav holiday treat. I actually got it last year off of Becky Higgigns website:
PEPPERMINT FUDGE

[ fudge layer ]

3 tsp. butter, softened (yes tsp. ... not Tbsp.)
4 oz. cream cheese, softened
4 c. powdered sugar
6 Tbsp. baking cocoa
1 tsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract

[ peppermint layer ]

2 oz. cream cheese, softened
2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. milk
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
1/4 c. crushed peppermint candy (about 10-12 candies)

Line the bottom and sides of a square baking dish with foil. Grease foil with butter; set aside. In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese. Gradually beat in powdered sugar, cocoa, milk and vanilla. Spread into prepared pan. Chill for an hour until firm. For peppermint layer, beat cream cheese in a small mixing bowl. Gradually beat in powdered sugar, milk and extract. Stir in peppermint candy. Spread evenly over chocolate layer. Chill for an hour or until firm. Using foil, lift fudge from pan. Gently peel off foil and cut into squares.

Notes: A double batch fits well in a 9” x 13” pan and makes about 7-8 dozen little squares of fudge. Also, to crush the peppermint candies, I place them in a thick zip lock bag and use a rubber mallet (soft hammer). This is where my kids like to help!

5 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 cups granulated sugar
1 (15 ounce) can LIBBY'S® 100% Pure Pumpkin
4 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup orange juice
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9 x 5-inch loaf pans.
Combine flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Combine sugar, pumpkin, eggs, vegetable oil and orange juice in large mixer bowl; beat until just blended. Add pumpkin mixture to flour mixture; stir just until moistened. Fold in cranberries. Spoon batter into prepared loaf pans.
Bake for 60 to 65 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans on wire racks for 10 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Delicious! (and easy)

My very favorite is Pumpkin Spice Cake!!

2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 3/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 c. pumpkin pie filling
1 c. oil
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Mix together the dry ingredients. Add eggs, pumpkin and oil. Blend in nuts. Grease and flour two 9 inch cake pans. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

My favorite holiday treat would have to be the rum cake that I make! It is a basic recipe that I got from the bacardi website. I do add a twist by using flavored rum instead of the dark rum like the suggest. I have done coconut, banana and vanilla so far. I am wanting to try spiced rum next!! Enjoy!

Prep Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
---Cake---
1 cup chopped, toasted pecans or walnuts
1 18-1/2 ounce yellow cake mix
1 1-3/4 ounce (4-serving size) instant vanilla pudding mix
4 eggs
1/2 cup cold milk*
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup Bacardi dark rum
---Glaze---
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup Bacardi dark rum
Preparation:
Cake: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour 12-cup Bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts on bottom of pan. Combine all cake ingredients. Beat for 2 minutes on high with electric mixer. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour. Cool in pan. Invert on serving plate. Prick top with fork. Drizzle glaze over top of cake. Use brush or spoon to put extra dripping back on cake.
Glaze: Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in water and sugar. Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in rum. Note: The rum will cause steam. Be careful not to burn yourself.

Notes in the Margin: I have made this cake many, many times. It not only is the perfect dessert, but I've had house guests who wanted it for breakfast. My husband keeps threatening to use it for French toast. I personally think that it'll never get dry enough as it stays moist a long time. The longer this cakes sits, the better the taste. This cake freezes beautifully. Also, many of these cakes have been shipped to soldiers overseas. They got there just fine.

Everybody loves "my" peanut butter fudge. It's just the recipe on the Kraft Marshmallow Creme jar except I substitute peanut butter baking chips for the chocolate chips. Nobody ever believes how easy it is to make.

Here is a super-duper easy no-bake recipe (not sure what the cookies are called).

Bring 1 cup sugar and 1 cup Karo to a boil (stirring constantly). Add 1 cup peanut butter and remove from heat. Mix in 6 cups Rice Krispies (can use Special K also). Press into a greased 13x9 casserole dish. Melt 1 package of chocolate chips and 1 package of butterscotch chips together and spread over the top! They sure don't last long at our house!

The stocking looks fabulous by the way!

I would that my favorite holiday treat is my mom's doublechocolate chunk and peppermint cookies. She uses a cake mix from Duncan Hines...the recipe is on the back, and then you make them into cookies, adding crushed peppermint candy canes. Do not leave cookies in for more than 8 minutes though or the peppermint will burn. SUper easy and fun and yummy!

Super easy recipe...

Pumpkin Cake

1 large can of pumpkin
1 spice cake mix
1 cup of chocolate chips (more if you want... sometimes you just have to have more chocolate!)

Mix enough of the pumpkin with the spice cake mix until it's moist. Add the chocolate chips and bake according to the cake mix directions. It's yummy as is... if you wanted, you could always add cream cheese frosting.

I make these every year at Christmas time.

Spritz Cookies

2 sticks butter, softened
2½ cups flour
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla, lemon or almond extract
1 large egg
food coloring (optional)
sprinkles (optional)

Preheat oven 400°F

1. Cream butter and sugar.

2. Stir in remaining ingredients, adding 1 or 2 drops of food coloring if desired.

3. Fill cookie press with dough; form desired shapes on ungreased cookie sheet. Decorate with colored sugar, non-pareils, and sprinkles.

4. Bake until set, but not brown, approximately 6-9 minutes.

my fav holiday treat are yummy cake balls...and SO simple.

- bake a cake, any flavor, as directed on the box or your own recipe from scratch. bake it in a 13 x 9 pan.
- once cool, crumble the entire cake into a large bowl. stir in frosting, any flavor that sounds good with your cake flavor, until the cake crumbles start to stick together.
- once sticky, shape into balls (about 1 inches) and freeze.
- after they are frozen, dip individually into almond bark (or any chocolate that sets quickly) and set to harden on parchment paper.
- you can sprinkle jimmys or sugars on the top or swirl colored chocolate over the top once they harden.
- these look fab and taste even better!! if you do a chocolate fudge cake mix, with chocolate frosting, and dip it in chocolate almond bark - it tastes just like a mini hoho.
another favorite combo is a spice cake with cream sheese frosting dipped in dark chocolate almond bark.

One of my favorite cookies is RUSSIAN TEA CAKES(Snowball cookies
The key is to have very warm but not melted butter(warmer than room temp.)
INGREDIENTS
1 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/3 cup confectioners' sugar for decoration


DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, cream butter and vanilla until smooth. Combine the 6 tablespoons confectioners' sugar and flour; stir into the butter mixture until just blended. Mix in the chopped walnuts. Roll dough into 1 inch balls, and place them 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 12 minutes in the preheated oven. When cool, roll in remaining confectioners' sugar. I also like to roll mine in the sugar a second time.

Melt chocolate
Dip pretzel using a fork
Let dry on wax paper

My favorite Holiday Treat is Peanut Butter Fudge. Everyone BEGS for them all year long, but I only make them for the holiday season!

The recipe follows:

Original Peanut Butter Fudge

1 lb light brown sugar
1-tbsp butter (Plus enough to grease the pan)
3 tbsp sugar
½ c milk
1-tsp cornstarch
1-tsp vanilla
1 8oz. jar smooth Peanut Butter

1. Using butter, grease a 13x9 in. baking pan.
2. Dissolve brown sugar, butter and granulated sugar and milk together in a fairly large pot.
3. Cook until it reaches softball stage. (When mixture is dropped in a glass of cold water it forms into a soft ball when rolled and holds its shape well but not hard). Remove from heat.
4. Dissolve cornstarch in 2-tbsp cold water. Add to mixture and stir well.
5. Add vanilla and peanut butter and beat until very smooth. NO LUMPS at all.
6. Pour into greased pan. Cool. Cut into 2 in. squares.

Every Christmas Morning, I have:

Ingredients:
3 cans refrigerated biscuits
½ sugar
1 T cinnamon
1 stick of butter
1 cup of brown sugar
Nuts, if desired

Directions:
1. Cut packaged biscuits into 1/4ths.
2. Roll each piece of biscuit into a mixture of the white sugar and cinnamon. Drop pieces into a bundt pan.
3. Boil together the butter, brown sugar, and nuts. Pour over the top of the biscuits.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

Also good with powdered sugar icing drizzled on top!

Oooo, I love all holiday treats! LOL. I especially love cookies. My cousins & I get together every year around Christmas time and have a whole Christmas cookie baking fest.

One of my favorite cookies are peanut butter kisses. You just make a regular peanut butter cookie recipe, roll the dough into 1" balls, roll in sugar, and place on a cookie sheet. Bake according to pb cookie recipe directions. As soon as they get out of the oven, push a chocolate kiss down in the center of each. Yummy!!

Sugar cookies

3 ¼ flour
1 ½ c sugar
2/3 c shortening
2 eggs
2 Tablespoons of mild
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
½ teaspoon salt

Early in the day:

Into large bowl, measure all ingredients. With mixer at medium speed, beat ingredients until well mixed, occasionally scraping bowl with rubber spatula. With hands, shape dough into ball; wrap; refrigerate dough 2 to 3 hours until easy to handle.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly grease cookie sheet. Roll half or third of dough at a time, keeping rest refrigerated. For crisp cookies, roll dough paper thin. For softer cookies, roll 1/8” to 14” thick. With floured cookie cutter, cut into shapes. Reroll trimmings and cut.

Place cookies ½ inch apart on cookie sheets. Bake 8 minutes or until very light brown. With a pancake turner, remove cookie to racks; cool. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.

Here is a popular and really easy appetizer:
Too Easy Cheese Spread
Slice a baguette into 1/4" slices
Mix: 1c shredded Cheddar
1/2 c. mayo ( or enough to make cheese stick together)
1/4 c chopped fresh parsley
2-3 pressed garlic cloves

Spread cheese mix on slices, pop under broiler til melted and bubbly (watch closely or they will burn!)
Serve warm! Everyone loves them!

I've gotten lazy the last 4 Christmas's. I buy the Betty Crocker premixed cookies in a bag. When baked they taste just like the scratch ones. I love the chocolate chip, sugar and fudge cookie. Fudge on the back of the condensed milk can... Yummo!!

Our family's favorite holiday treat hands down are Spiced Pecans:

* 1 egg white, lightly beaten
* 1 tablespoon water
* 3 cups pecan halves
* 1/2 cup white sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
* 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
2. In a small bowl beat the egg white with the water. Stir in the pecans, mixing until well moistened.
3. In a small bowl, mix together sugar, salt, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Sprinkle over the moistened nuts. Spread nuts on prepared pan.
4. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, stirring once or twice. Be careful not to overcook and burn the nuts.

I so miss my grandmother's rum balls and (I don't remember the exact name - I think they were Hungarian Horns). They were a pastry with a nutty filling. She made them every year as long as she was able. I don't have the recipe but will have to track it down!

My family likes me to make my fake fudge - it is super simple and so versatile! You melt one bag of chips and combine with one container of frosting! Pour it into a greased 9x9 pan and chill. My family likes chocolate chips with vanilla frosting or butterscotch chips with fudge frosting. You can make any combination!

Crunchy Peanut Bark

2 lbs of almond bark
1 c peanut butter
3 c rice crispies
2 c dry roasted peanuts
2 c mini marshmallows

melt the almond bark in the microwave, add the remaining ingredients, drop by spoonfuls on waxed paper... tah dah... instant holiday treats!!

My favorite is homemade hot chocolate! I just love sipping on it while sitting with all the Christmas Lights on, and a roaring fire.

Hot Chocolate Mix

1 - 8 qt box powdered milk
1 - 1 lb. box Nestlé’s Quik
1 small (6 oz) jar Creamora
2 cups powdered sugar

Mix well. Store in an airtight container. Add 1/3 cup mix to 1 cup hot water.

*add 1 box chocolate pudding mix for extra flavor
**Top with a scoop of Marshmallow Creme - - for an extra yummy treat!

If you consider something ready-to-eat, I like the chocolate Wooka (I don't find it at Brasil)...
But, something that I need to cook, I think is "Rabanada" - I'm not sure if the English name is
"French toast", but... That is it:

Ingredients:

• 2 egg yolks
• 3 heaped tablespoons of white sugar
• 1 spoon of milk
• 1 spoon cream
• vanilla powder (optional)
• 12 slices of bread eve of
• oil
• Powdered sugar
• Ground cinnamon
• fresh fruit

Put the yolks in a bowl and add the sugar. Whisk the flip until you get a soft and thick cream. Add it to the little milk and cream. Whisk a little more and flavored with 1 spoon of vanilla coffee powder (optional). Whisk again. Wet the bread with this mixture and let soak for a few minutes. Heat enough oil in a frying pan or a container fund. Fry the slices, a few at a time, turning them until evenly gild. Remove the frying with a skimmer and drain the excess fat on sheets of absorbent paper. Add the sugar and cinnamon in the French toast still hot.

I hope the translation into English is OK... If someone doesn't understand anything, I'll be glad to clarify and/or explain...

Well my newest addiction is the Pretzel Hugs that I found on Becky Higgins blog. Here's a copy from her site:
PRETZEL HUGS

1 bag pretzels
1 pkg. M&Ms
1 pkg. Hershey "Hugs"

Place pretzels on baking stone or sheet. Place a Hug on each pretzel and bake at 200 degrees for about 8 minutes (just watch for the Hugs to melt). Remove from oven and promptly place a couple of M&Ms on each pretzel, pressing into the melted chocolate. Allow to cool before serving. At room temperature, this takes SEVERAL hours. I would recommend making these the day before you plan on eating/delivering. Or you can put them in the refrigerator to speed up the process. She's got so many other recipes on her blog...all are yummy!

Pretzel Turtles
Lay pretzel twists out on a cookie sheet. They can be super close together so you can fit a ton! Put a rolo on top of each. Put in oven at 200 degrees until soft...about 3-5 minutes...they get real shiny. Immediately after taking them out, push a pecan to squish the rolo down. Like I said...super quick, simple, and yummy!

WOW that stocking looks as "sweet" as all of these fabulous recipes. One of our favorite holiday desserts is homemade carmel pie. You won't believe where the carmel comes from!!
all you need is:
one can condensed milk, one 8oz tub of cool whip, one graham cracker crust and some time.
Get a tall pot, peel label off of condensed milk can and put the can into pot, fill with water. Boil for 3 hours..**make sure to ocassionally check the water level, as it boils it will evaporate some.. Keep the water a couple of inches over the can...do NOT let the water fall below can, I have heard it will rupture. When through boiling, let the can cool so you can handle it. Once cool, open can and pour into the pie crust...yep, its now carmel....... put pie into fridge and cool completely then spread all of cool whip onto top of carmel and serve.. Keep refridgerated as carmel will get runny if left out. ENJOY....

1 cup canned pumpkin
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chips, or any chip you like

Position a rack in the middle of the oven . Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and butter the paper.

Stir the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices together in a medium bowl and set aside. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat the eggs and sugar until smooth and lightened in color, about 1 minute. Stop the mixer and scrape the sides of the bowl as needed during mixing. On low speed, mix the oil, pumpkin, and vanilla until blended. Mix in the flour mixture to incorporate it. Mix in the chips.

Using an ice cream scoop with a 1/4-cup capacity, scoop mounds of the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing the cookies at least 2 1/2-inches apart. You could also simply use a 1/4-cup measuring cup if you don’t have a scoop. Use a thin metal spatula to smooth and flatten the rounds.

Bake the cookies one sheet at a time until the tops feel firm and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry, about 16 minutes. Cool them on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then use a wide metal spatula to transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.

1 lb butter
2 1/4 cups sugar
3 3/4 cups flour
8 eggs
1 T vanilla

My most requested holiday cookies are my Scandanavian Almond bars. I found the recipe the year we got married because I wanted to have my own cookies to bring to gatherings. They are a hit!! People request them all the time!!!

2 Ritz crackers with lots of Jif peanut butter in the middle dipped in chocolate. At first I thought it sounded gross, but OMG it has become my absolute favorite Christmas time treat! I suppose it could be eaten all year long......

My most favorite and easy to make holiday treat is a pastry/cookie called Fattigman (pronounced Futtyman). It is German in origin. Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:
6 egg yolks
4 TBSP sugar
2 TBSP butter, melted
1 wineglass filled with light wine (4 to 6 ozs.)
4 TBSP whipping cream
1/2 tsp. salt

Put all ingredients into a mixing bowl and beat thoroughly. Add enough flour to roll out to 1/8 inch thick. Cut into diamond shapes with fluted wheel cutter (I use a regular cookie cutter as I don't have the fluted wheel). Put a slit in center of each diamond and pull one end through slit. Fry in deep fat (cooking oil is the same thing) at 400 degrees. Turn once. Dust with powdered sugar when ready to serve.

This is an very old family recipe that my grandparents made every year. They deffinately did not last long in our house, as we all loved them. It's kind of like a doughnut yet a cookie.

Jell-o salad is one of my faves!!! It's basically red, green and orange jell-o cubed, stirred into a mixture of cool whip with cooled (not solid)lemon jell-o. Set it in the fridge and the lemon jell-o makes it set right up! My Grandma made it every year and when she passed, the tradition was passed to me!

Old-Fashioned Soft Pumpkin Cookies

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter (1 stick), softened
1 cup LIBBY'S® 100% Pure Pumpkin
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Glaze (recipe follows)

Directions:
PREHEAT oven to 350° F. Grease baking sheets.

COMBINE flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in medium bowl. Beat sugar and butter in large mixer bowl until well blended. Beat in pumpkin, egg and vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto prepared baking sheets.

BAKE for 15 to 18 minutes or until edges are firm. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Drizzle Glaze over cookies.

FOR GLAZE:
COMBINE 2 cups sifted powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons milk, 1 tablespoon melted butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract in small bowl until smooth.


They smell and taste WONDERFUL!!!

Wow - what a great giveaway again! Thanks for the chance to enter. My favorite cookie right now is the potato chip cookie.

1 cup butter or margarine (butter is best)
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 cup sifted flour
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup potato chips finely crushed

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix in order given. Drop by teaspoons on lightly greased cookie sheet. Press down with fork if desired. Bake at 350 F for 12-14 minutes until golden brown. Transfer to wire rack to cool completely.

Our family makes a cream filled wafer cookie during the Christmas holiday season which is everyone's favorite! Time consuming. My grandmother's devinity fudge is also a favorite but now that she is gone, no one else has quite been able to make it as good. Sweet memories. Thanks for making me think of them.

We love cookies! Our favorite is creamy peanut butter sandwiched between two ritz crackers and dipped in "almond bark". Allow the cookies to harden on wax paper ans store in an airtight container. They usually don't last long in our house! Hope you enjoy them.

It's kinda boring but I just love making sugar cookies and adding red and green M&M's on top~! They are yummy and so festive looking and can be done very FAST if in a pinch...i.e. buy the roll of sugar cookie dough. :)

Ok, this may sound gross to some... it did to me until i tried them a few years ago. Now it's a holiday "must" and SO super easy too! Happy Holidays!
Butterscotch haystacks:

1 cup peanut butter
1/2 package or 6 oz butterscotch morsels
1 large can chow mein noodles

Melt peanut butter and butterscotch together. Can be done on the stove top or in a microwave. Pour over noodles; mix well. Drop by tablespoon on wax paper; freeze for a couple of hours. May be stored in a loose fitting topped cookie jar.

Candy Cane Cookies
1 box sugar cookie mix
1/2 stick butter, melted
1 egg
1/3 cup softened cream cheese
1/2 cup all-purpose flour, plus additional for surface
Red food coloring
1 1/2 teaspoons peppermint extract
Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

In a bowl, combine sugar cookie mix, melted butter, egg, cream cheese, and flour; mix together to form dough. Separate dough into 2 equal portions and place in 2 different bowls. Add red food coloring gradually to 1 bowl of dough, kneading together until desired shade of red is created. To second bowl of uncolored dough, add peppermint extract and knead together. On a floured work surface, shape each dough into balls and then roll each ball into 1/4-inch-wide ropes, each about 6 inches long. For each cookie, carefully twist some of the red and white ropes of dough together and shape into a candy cane. Spread candy canes out on cookie sheets and bake on the top shelf of the oven for about 10 to 12 minutes. Transfer to a rack to cool before serving

OK, so a savory party treat. Pear and truffle crostini.

Slice and toast a baguette. Put a dab of goat cheese, a slice of pear (roasted is optional) drizzle with a teeny tiny touch of white truffle oil and balsamic vinegar. YUM!

Sharing my favorite holiday recipe :) I looooove these, and I am so glad that I found an english recipe for these (we used to make these every year when we were in germany). So here goes:

German Cinnamon Stars (Zimtsterne)

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups (about 8 ounces) hazelnuts or blanched almonds, finely ground
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon grated lemon zest
1/4 cup egg whites (about 2 large)
Pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
About 1/2 cup additional confectioners' sugar for rolling

Preparation:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.

2. Combine the nuts, cinnamon, and zest. Beat the egg whites on low speed until foamy, about 30 seconds. Add the salt, increase the speed to medium-high, and beat until soft peaks form, 1 to 2 minutes. Gradually add the confectioners' sugar and beat until stiff and glossy, 5 to 8 minutes. Reserve one-third of the meringue (about 1/3 cup) and fold the nut mixture into the remaining meringue.

3. Place a large piece of waxed paper on a flat surface and sprinkle with additional confectioners' sugar. Place the nut mixture on the sugar, lightly sprinkle with more confectioners' sugar, top with a second piece of waxed paper, and roll out 1/4 inch thick. Remove the top piece of waxed paper. Using a cookie cutter dipped in water, cut into 2-inch star shapes or use a sharp knife to cut into diamonds. Reroll and cut any scraps. Place on the prepared baking sheet.

4. Bake until set, 10 to 12 minutes. Spread the reserved meringue over the top of the cookies and bake until the tops are lightly colored, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a rack and let cool. Zimtsternen taste best if allowed to stand for 24 hours. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 weeks.

let see, holiday treats..hmm. I love the sugar roll out cookies. I love ot just eat them with out the frosting! Yummy, this is my fave recipe for them:

1 c sugar
1 c margarine or butter, softened
3 T milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
3 cups flour
1 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt

In large bowl, combine first 5 ingredients; blend well. Stir in remaining ingredients blend well. Chill dough for a couple hours.

Roll Dough and cut out .
Bake 400 degrees for 5-8 minutes

The trick with these is to not roll them too thin, leave them about 1/4 inch thick

I absolutely love White Chocolate-Candy Cane Cheesecake... The only time I make it is at Christmas. Here is the receipe.....

White Chocolate-Candy Cane Cheesecake

121 cup HONEY MAID Graham Crumbs
3/4 cup plus 3 Tbsp. sugar, divided
3 Tbsp. butter, melted
3 pkg. (250g each) Cream Cheese, softened
3 eggs
4 squares BAKER'S White Chocolate, melted
1/4 tsp. peppermint extract
1 tub (500mL) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed
1 square BAKER'S White Chocolate, grated (optional)
1/2 cup crushed candy canes

PREHEAT oven to 325°F if using a silver 9-inch springform pan (or to 300°F if using
a dark nonstick 9-inch springform pan).

Mix crumbs, 3 Tbsp. of the sugar and the butter;
press firmly onto bottom of pan.
Bake 10 minutes.

BEAT cream cheese and remaining 3/4 cup sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on
medium speed until well blended. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing on low speed after each
addition just until blended. Stir in the melted white chocolate and extract; pour over crust.

BAKE 45 to 50 minutes or until centre is almost set. Run knife or metal spatula around
rim of pan to loosen cake; cool before removing rim of pan. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.
Top with the whipped topping and crushed candy canes just before serving. Garnish with
grated chocolate if desired. Store leftover cheesecake in refrigerator.

Moist Rum Cake - YUMMY! 3/4 c pecans, chopped, one butter flavor cake yellow cake mix (box), 1/2 c water, 1/2 c oil, 1/2 c RUM, 4 eggs. Grease & flour bundt pan. Sprinkle pecans into the bottom of the pan. Mix the other ingredients in order listed. Beat with mixer for 3 mins. Pour into pan. Bake 325 for 50-60 mins. Mix 1 stick margarine, 1/4 c water, 1/4 c dark rum and 1c sugar and boil for 2 mins. Puncture cake with a fork or toothpack so glaze will seep into cake. Gradually drizzle glaze over the hot cake. Let cake sit in pan or metal rack for 30 minutes before removing. This cake is easy to prepare and freezes beautifully. Enjoy! And thanks for the RAK!! Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

I actually work in a store in the mall that sells home made cookies, brownies, bars, etc! One of my favorites is soft ginger cookies with cream cheese cinnamon frosting. I might be able to be persuaded to share the recipe, but it could take some doing ;)

I love frosted trash! Just buy some Chex corn cereal and the recipe is on the box. It is so good and has peanut butter, melted chocolate, and powdered sugar. Mix in nuts and rasins with it. Soooo good!
