Love the giveaway and thanks for the opportunity to win!
Being a newlywed couple (we have been married for 6 months), we don't have many set traditions yet but ever since we started dating (over 3 years now), we make it a point to walk around the neighborhood and see all the decorations and Christmas lights. It's alone time together and we often talk about how it's going to be around the holidays when we have a home and children.

I love the tradition of gathering all the family! My family lives far away from me, so it´s great to meet every now and then! /Pia

My family tradtion has been going for 11 years now. My whole family Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, Moms. Dad',, Sisters, Nieces, and 1 Godchild all go out tto my cousin Kimberly's Gravesite. It is always on December 1st. You would think it would be very sad but actually it has lots of meaning to it. We have always had a family reunion every christmas till Kim was killed in a tragic car accident at the age of 21. She was tryingvto help a friend who had been in a another accident and she was killed crossing the road to help. After Kim passed we decided as a family that we would move our Christmas party to Kim's resting side. So we all meet out there on Dec 1st and decorate her area. We put up trees and all kinds of stuff. Even solar powered so it is never dark. We sing , have food and socialize as if she is here.
I have to say that it has made our family very close. People actually fly in for the tradition. When I seen the stocking of stuff I had to post cause purple is Kim's favorite color. If I won this I would do a album for her mom ( my Aunt) with pictures of Kim.I love the bird house thats a great idea to put out at her site.Might have to make that.

Each year at Christmas time, the girls in our family throw our Grammy a "tea party." We serve her and 12 of her friends lunch and dessert. Afterwards, the tradition has been to play the "12 Days of Christmas" game. Grammy and each of her friends are given a number 1 through 12 and we sing the 12 days of Christmas. Each friend has to sing their part when it comes time (in the song). It's alwasy a hoot, as some will always forget their line and sometime they make up their own. We all enjoy it!

Wow!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!!! Plum crazy is right!!! When I was a child and Santa and Christmas held all the childhood magic, my mom would take my brother and I for ice cream on Christmas Eve and miraculously, when we returned, Santa had been there and left all the presents under the tree!!! I still get the "warm fuzzies" when I remember those times!!!

Hugs!

Since 1982 (when our dd was 2 yr. old), my dh has dressed as Santa and arrived at the house on Christmas Eve around 9:00pm. Even when all the kids were grown, this tridition continued. He brings a big red sack with a small gift for each person there (even if friends are there visiting). Everyone takes turns sitting on his lap and telling him what they want for Christmas. Then he reads "the Night Before Christmas" and leaves for the night. Now that there are little ones again (4 yr old and 7 year dgs), it is even more fun. Of course "Papa" misses him every year because he always has to go to the store for something that "Gramma" forgot to get and cannot live without!!

Merry Christmas!
My favorite tradition is all the ornaments we've collected over the years. I could spend hours putting them on the tree and remember where and when we got them or who gave them to us.

My sister and I used to stuff each other's stockings instead of gifts for xmas & since she passed I now do it with my cousin. It's my fav thing to get & my fav thing to shop for.

We get together once a year with my husbands extended family, all his brothers/sisters and all of their kids and grandkids. We have a pot luck dinner and then the younger kids dress up and act out the Nativity, as the Christmas story as told in Luke is read. We rotate who gets to be Joseph and Mary....but no one is left out, as there are no end to the angels, shepherds and animals!

I feel holiday traditions are very inportant for families and with me being a single mom to 2 super cute boys ages 10 and 5 I felt it even more urgent to make sure we have a holiday tradition. The three of us every year pick a weekend and I go to the store and buy all the things needed to bake all day (with thir help of course) and then on Sunday after church we make gingerbread castles. We listen to x-mas music and laugh and tell remember when stories. It's a great tradition and I'm so thankful we have it.

my favorite tradition from when I was a little girl was decorating our tree on Christmas eve. It was so much fun and I remember how excited I was when Christmas eve finally came.

I actually have two, but the best is that all of the girls in the family get together on a Saturday and have a cookie bake off. It is all day of making, baking, and decorating cookies. Which we share with our extended family and my grandmothers nursing home. Its a great day.Joyce

One of my most favorite traditions is one that my mom started and I have carried on and it is that we get our tree, turn on Christmas music, make nachos and hot coco and spend the entire day decorating our house and tree and then we top if off with a nice home cooked dinner and a Christmas movie. My kids and I look forward to this every single year. We plan the whole day our in advance. This year is special becuse my son has joined the Marine Corps and this could be the last Christmas we get to do this.

By the way, I love the give away and just love all of your products. So much glitzy goodness! Thanks!

Wonderful stocking!
I think the Christmas morning stocking is one of the major traditions. But the one we also do is after everyone pitch's in with Christmas dinner clean-up the family sits down to a poker game(real money of course). Even the younger kids can take turns on laps for a few mins. of grown-up time playing a hand or two. Once all the young ones get their turns all of them sit around the room for Christmas movie time. This tradition has been done for 6+ generations. Have a great holiday everyone, & good luck to all.
Hugs,
Julia

My husband and I started our own Christmas Tradition last year and I believe our grown children will be joining us this Christmas Eve. My husband as Santa and I will visit our local small town hospital and extended care again to visit and spread a little cheer. Of all the volunteer things we have been involved in over the past holidays, I have to say this is the greatest of all great feelings. When my Grandfather was at the end of his battle with cancer, he said to me "Once a man, but twice a child" So true when you see the joy on the face of an elderly soul who will not be going home for Christmas. It is not possible to put into words the way we both felt after leaving that facility last Christmas Eve. So that is exactly where we can be found this year!

Wowsers ladies....that is ONE awesome stocking and giveaway :) One of my all-time favorite Christmas traditions is openning one present on Christmas Eve, we did this when I was a kid and I do it with my kids, but I've changed it abit...we open ONE gift and its always NEW Pj's, then we make our xmas cookies for Santa in our new jammies and its absolutely perfect ;)
Have a MERRY Christmas Glitz!!!!

My favorite tradition involves all 5 of my siblings and I to get together at someone's home, put on our pjs, have hot chocolate - tell stories, play games and open one gift. Its something we have done since were were little kids, almost 40 years ago.

what an awesome prize.
My favorite holiday tradition is Christmas morning....waiting for the kids to get up...when they finally do they come running into the bedroom, climb into bed with hubby and I, and go through their stockings. They have been doing this since they were toddlers. Now they are 16 and 19. It is the moment I love most because they still enjoy it.

Every year I buy an ornament that commemorates something important that happened that year....could be buying a new house or when my kids were little...it was something they loved that year...like one year my daughter jessica wanted to wear a little pair of red shoes everyday...no matter what she was wearing...so I found a red shoe ornament...I put the year somewhere on the ornament and I take a picture of it on the tree and then I scrapbook the photo in a special ornament book....when my kids are grown and I divide the ornaments up between them...they will get the matching scrapbook pages so they will know the history behind their family ornaments....

Merry Christmas!

My fave tradition is making and sprinkling Reindeer Food on Christmas Eve to make sure Santa makes a stop at our house!

I think my favorite part of the holidays is wrapping all the presents. It's a lot of hard work, but I have to have the perfect paper, the perfect ribbons and bows and beautiful tags. It's a lot of hard work, but I love to see the girls' reactions to them....and then rip the presents open.

My favourite tradition is just having all the family together to celebrate this time of year. When we are all together presents seem insignificant....Love your stuff and wish we could get more of it in OZ.

Theresa Merkling said...

Since my kids are older, we've changed our Christmas to a more low keyed family time - we generally go out to a local seafood buffet restaurant for Christmas eve, then attend the evening service at church. When we get home, we haul out the presents (which we keep stashed due to pets) and open them in turn. It's a nice way to appreciate each other and just connect... also, this way there is no rush to rise and shine bright and early on Christmas morning.

Unknown said...

My favorite tradition is on Christmas Morning. The kids open their stockings before we are up and around, but we are not far behind. My mother and Grandmother come over early and we have a large breakfast, including home made cinnamon rolls, egg souffle, and cappuchino punch. Then we open gifts and enjoy the morning. The kids are older now, with the oldest being out on his own, but he still loves coming over for this fun, laid back morning and family time.

once our kids grew up and moved away, my husband and i started our own tradition of stocking stuffer gifts, just a little light celebration, just the two of us... i enjoy doing most of the shopping, but my husband finds ways to sneak a few fun items in my stocking as well.

Our favorite Christmas tradition is getting our daughter ready for bed on Christmas Eve and making sure we have left enough milk and cookies for Santa. We always leave the reindeer plenty of carrots too (our dog chews on them for us after she has gone to bed). And finally when the scene is set, we read an heirloom edition book that we bought while we were waiting for our daughter to come home to us. She came home 7 Christmas's ago from Haiti. The book we read is "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and the illustrations are amazing. It is a special time for us that is quite magical.

Our favorite Christmas tradition on Christmas morning is to have everyone come to our house dressed in identical pajamas supplied beforehand. We all open presents with the grandchildren and then have gumbo and potato salad (a Cajun tradition) for our noon meal. For dessert we always order a birthday cake from the bakery and have a "birthday party" for baby Jesus, complete with candles and singing! Hope you all have a blessed Christmas with your loved ones. Hello from Houma!!!

Then on Christmas day we celebrate with our entire extended family. We also go to Riley's Farm every year for our tree. There are so many traditions this time of year, too hard to chose one.
