Kismet Independence with Danni Reid

 i love to send cards (and receive them) for the 4th of july.  the cards become part of the table/mantel decor in my home.   i love to see the cards & say a prayer for all those serving (my bil has served 3 tours in Iraq already).  what a perfect & beautiful celebration of the birth of & love for our country and the men and women serving to protect it. 

since i enjoy sending so many cards for the 4th, i have to start creating them now so i can get them shipped and received in time to enjoy them for the 4th of july (which is on a sunday this year). 

i KNEW that the amazing new Kismet line from Glitz would be perfect for my cards this year.  i love the blue in this line paired with the rich red & brown, it's gorgeous & gave such a fun feel to the cards this year.

i used one of the distressing clear stamps to create the flag and embellished with the gorgeous red & clear frosting .

i love the kismet stripe paper paired with kismet numbers on these 4th of july cards.

   

i stamped the various stars onto the maya navy and the kismet stripes paper (the stars stamped beautifully with the papertrey ink fresh snow ink.  (the papers are rich enough to hold the white ink)

created this card using the backside of the Maya stripe paper.  i stamped the paper with one of the distressing stamps to resemble "grass"

i created my sun using the save the date clear stamps & pinked the edges.
