Using "Save The Date" stamps with Danni Reid

good morning.  i know it's not quite halloween but halloween is one of those holidays that ALWAYS sneaks up on me.  there really is so much to do before the spooky night, costumes, class parties, goodie bags, carnivals, etc. & it just plain sneaks up on me.

so, i've made it a tradition to start halloween cards & goodie bags in september.  it was with this thought in mind, that i decided to create halloween cards for this post.  knowing that the Glitz lines were not halloween lines, i turned to my fun save the date stamps from and the Distressing 1 stamps to begin my cards.  i love these stamps, love that you can use them to distress a page/card or CREATE a background paper for a page/card, they are truly so much fun & so easy to use.

i created the background paper using the distressing 1 stamps & some orange cardstock.
i created the ghost using the distressed couture blocks paper, stitched all around the ghost & added some black frosting for eyes.  i then added teeny black alphas and the number 31 stamped using the save the date stamps.

Halloween 1

i wanted the focal of this card to be this fun owl rub from the vintage wings rub ons.  he is so cute & reminds me of all things that come out at night :)
i rubbed him onto white heavy-weight cardstock & then carefully cut him out & layered him on top of kraft cardstock with some mounting tape.
