Celebrating Mom with Kristii Lockart

Happy Friday dear friends!  I can hardly believe we are at the end of April already!! Seems like the month just flew right on by.  In just a few short days, it will be time to celebrate those women who are so very special in our lives.  I love Mother's Day and all that it entails!! It also means that my kids will either come home or call me at some point in the day and I look forward to spending time with them!!  I'm so sad to say that my mom is no longer with us, but each year I make a card in remembrance of her!  I was excited to design some Mother's Day cards with Glitz Design's Laced with Grace Collection!  What a gorgeous line of papers!!  So perfect for Mother's Day cards, or any type of card for that matter!!
I died some seam binding with Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass Distress Reinker and added some blue buttons to enhance the blue in the chair.  I also layered a Laced with Grace Glitzer on top of a Laced with Grace Whatnot and I love the combination! Glitz Designs embellishments are so fun to work with and give you so many possiblities!
 Supplies used:
Glitz Designs "Laced with Grace" patterned Papers: Polka and Rose
Glitz Designs "Laced with Grace" Stamps
Glitz Designs "Laced with Grace" Glitzers
Glitz Designs "Laced with Grace" Whatnots

other supplies:  Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream CardstockPrima lace, Hug Snug Seam Binding, Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass Distress Reinker, Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink, Papertrey Ink buttons and twine, Papertrey Ink stamps: Tiny Tags, Papertrey Ink Double-Ended Banner Die.

The next card is very simple and easy.  It will take you all of 2 minutes to put together!  I think the whatnot word collage sets the tone of the card and the rest just falls into place!
I layered some cardstock with a Laced with Grace Whatnot, added some ribbon then attached a Laced with Grace Journaling Sticker over the ribbon.  I added a Laced with Grace Glitzer, cut out and attached some butterflies and added some jewels and a bow.
Supplies used:
Glitz Designs "Laced with Grace" Whatnots

Other supplies:  Webster's Pages Sparklers, Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream Grosgrain ribbon, Kaiser Craft Pearls, Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink, Papertrey Ink stamps: Tiny Tags, Papertrey Ink Double-Ended Banner Die.

Inked Up Layouts with Rommel Okuma

Hello gorgeous!
Today is my first post here, and I’m feeling so happy to share with you guys some inspiration with newest Glitz Design products. All newest collections, released on CHA Winter 2011, are fabulous and when I’ve received my box with Glitz Goodies I just can’t stop to see it all over and over, because they really are amazing: fresh colorful papers, vintage style, many kind of beautiful stamps and a bunch of embellish to use!
So let’s go!
My style of scrapbooking is something like eclectic with a bit of artistic ways. I love to work with contrasting colors, layering papers and add a lot of details with inks, stamping pads, stamps, and many cut outs and die cuts or another alternative supplies. This is my creative process to explore a many possibilities ways to use papers and other materials.
This first project called Growin’ Up is about my friend’s daughter. A sassy girl that each day growing up with joy, healthy and so much love! I use three kind of patterned paper from different collections and add some great details like ink’s spot, butterflies, flowers and paper strips. Look it all, please:

She is so cute, isn’t she? This paper layer works like a mat under the photos , a transparent frame and a butterfly cut out from Butterflies Laced With Grace collection paper:
Just a little amazing detail: a sticker under the roses. It's so delicate, isn't it?

Sewn paper strips. I love to sew in details!

This heart from Laced with Grace is just perfect for this LO, don’t you think so? It was painted with distress ink, sanded  and distressed:
This second project "Advices 4 a good life" is about myself. The photos were shot a few days after my 32th birthday (can you say that I’m 32 years old?! :P). Here again I mixed all collections and create something unique, look:

One of my pleasures is transform new paper to an old just watering and kneading it. I made it in this paper layer from Love Games Collection. Here, in special, I used Distress Stain and water. This paper looks like burnt, so cool!

I used a blue cardstock as a background, contrasting with this pink paper. The pattern of paper is a mix with partition, vintage texts, announces and much more. This is already one of my fav papers.  The harlequin pattern is also great.  Blue, pink and green:  the palette of this page was so delightful!  Loved it!

My favorite detail: this tag:

It was made with distress ink (watery ink technique). I used distress ink tea dye with this text stamp of Laced by Grace collection and the “arms” stamp by Love Games Stamp Set.

Other details was created with Whatnot, Peek-a-boos, Cardstock journaling and title stickers:

And I almost forget to say about this Teeny Alpha Cream Grunge. This vintage circus font is great and so fun!

Decorated Wedding Frame with Tammy Tutterow

The first second I saw the new Love Games collection I was totally taken with the black and white Damask pattern.  I love damask patterns and especially love them for home decor pieces.  For this frame, I recovered a clearance aisle photo frame and added ribbon and embellishments for a classic and romantic feeling.
Lgframe1
Lgframe2
I wrapped the frame in 1 3/4" wide silk taffeta ribbon that has a green and brown weave.  It changes color depending on the light.
Lgframe3
I embellished over the ribbon with flowers in brown and green and added two skeleton leaves.  I topped the flowers with a Love Games Cardstock sticker.  I applied the sticker to a scrap of patterned paper to cover the adhesive and to add a little more structure to the sticker.
Lgframe4
I adhered the sticker onto the top of the flowers, using them to lift the sticker off of the surface and to make it the centerpiece of the design.

Lgframe6
The skeleton leave add an interesting texture to the design.  I love that they are transparent and allow the pattern of the paper and the color of the ribbon to show through.

Supplies:
patterned paper: Glitz Design Love Games Damask
sticker: Glitz Design Love Games Cardstock Sticker
flowers and leaves: Prima Marketing
ribbon: Midori Luxe Taffeta Ribbon Fern
ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo
adhesive: Claudine Hellmuth Matte Multi Medium and Helmar 450 QD

Love Game Cards with Carla Peicheff

Good morning ladies! :) Did everyone have a nice Easter weekend? We actually saw some sun here over the weekend and it's warmed up a bit! :)

Well today I have a couple Glitz Design cards to show you using the fabulous new Love Games collection kit! Yummy! :)

The first card is a Mothers Day card since Mothers day is fast approaching! It's a little different colour scheme than what you'd usually see for a Mother's Day card, but I love it! :) The adorable Cardstock Title Stickers make it super easy to throw together a quick card!

And for this card, I showcased the "hi" on the awesome "Whatnot" card... which I love! These can totally be the "main attraction" on your card! You get a pkg full of them, so it's fun to pick & choose which ones you want to use!

Stamping on your Layouts with Mou Saha

Hi there my Glitz blog friends, Mou Saha here with today's layouts. When I got a box full of Glitz's new CHA-Winter releases, I was blown away. They are just so lovely! My goodness, I LOVE the stamps... and they found ways into my layouts this month.

I used this Distressing stamp from the Afternoon Muse collection to create the page title.

This was perfect with the 'When I Grow Up' journaling card

The new colors of the Teeny Alpha stickers are so rich.

For my second layouts, I got happy with textures and more stamps. I layered and paper quilted a border for the page.
Next, I added the photo and stamped the hot air balloon and Fairy Whispers block and cut them out. I colored them in and mounted the balloon to the page with pop dots.

I stitched the Fairy Whispers block onto the background to create the title.

Pocket Cards with Michelle Philippi

As you read this, my family and I are on a 10-day Disney cruise to Mexico; beyond excited we are....and so very blessed. We are going to be in Cabo San Lucas on Easter Sunday and I am so looking forward to celebrating in a nice, old, perfectly vintage church. The only thing that matters to my kids however is will the Easter Bunny be able to find them on the ship - LOL I wanted to be sure and have something heartfelt and handcrafted for them for Easter, and I remembered these little kraft pocket bags I have had for the longest time. I love getting new goodies - like my Afternoon Muse collection from Glitz - and using it to bring some love to something I've had untouched for a very long time.

So pocket cards it is. Nice and flat and easy to travel with. I swooshed white acrylic paint on the edges of my kraft pockets and essentially treated that as my card base.
EasterFun1
My card front has fun Afternoon Muse patterned paper, paper layers and some white stitching to go with the white stitching on these old felt bunny stickers I have had hanging around forever too.
EasterFun2
For the inside of my card I used these great Whatnot images which have a great colored image on one side and a plain white glossy cardstock side on the other where I can do some writing.
EasterFun3
I cut these little girls out of the paper layer; I think they are whispering about what they are hoping to find in their Easter baskets.
EasterWishes1
Stitching, and a Victorian lace doily punch are just perfect to show off these sweet lil' dollies.
EasterWishes2
With the white and cream and orange and pinks, red can still work for Easter.
EasterWishes3
These Peek-A-Boo banners are my most favorite thing ever. And that bike! *swoon*
HappyEaster1
If there's one thing you need to know about me, it's that I consider myself a cardmaker and not a stamper. I really don't do a whole lot of stamping and love that with these teeny alphas I can come up with any sentiment I want. You might have a stamp that says Happy Easter. But with alphabet stickers, I can change the Easter sentiment and have 3 different Easter sentiments without having to buy 3 Easter stamps.
HappyEaster2
This Whatnot says Humpty Dumpty Circus - and that makes me giggle.
I can totally see this in a baby themed creation.
