Wintry Wishes with Karola Witczak

Hello everyone! I hope you had amazing Christmas time with family and friends! So, since Christmas is behind us, I don't have any Christmas projects for today, but instead I bring some winter and New Year's inspiration.

Creating winter projects with new Glitz collections was a great challenge. This is not a novelty for me, I love to use different materials to create seasonal projects. Highly encourage you to! Today I have the layout of my daughter Rose, a photo was taken last winter. I thought that there are two colors in the Glitz collections, which I associate with cold, frosty winter - purple and turquoise:) Thanks to Dance in the Sunshine line to create the layout was very easy!

I used here Dance in the Sunshine album pages as layers, and lots of die cuts created from Glitz papers. I stamped rose and birds motifs from Vintage Blue Stamps set onto papers and cut out them to use as another layers. Tiny white and turquoise letters created my title at the bottom of the page. I used also one of the Paper Layers to matting the photo. To add a little bit frosty atmosphere I painted white acrylic paint edges of my page. 

Since this month we have the ability to create projects outside their department, and therefore benefited from this opportunity and I made two cards with New Year wishes. I hope that this inspiration will be useful for you at the last moment to give someone something beautiful with personally made Happy New Year card.

Happy New Year cards with Iwona Palamountain

With Holidays gone, we're now looking forward to the New Year's celebrations, and what better way to celebrate the fact, with some fun Glitz Design cards! I can't wait to send these to my pals...

I combined the papers, some stickers and other gorgeous elements from two different collections, with a little bit of stamping, and whipped up these two :)
Now, the first card below... I LOVE how it turned out. I embossed the modern cityscape on the banner, creating a little night scene. I added some fireworks too, that I embellished with rhinestones. To this I added the chic Victorian lady, looking like she's ready for a good, old-fashioned party uptown... hee hee!

For the next card, I pulled out the trusty Hoopla collection. It's made with birthday celebrations in mind, and I thought it would be wonderful for a New Year too. I made the cityscape peek out of the corner here as well, but the main role belongs to the fabulous, layered label sticker, paired with the sentiment.

New Year's Layout & Journal with Jolaine Frias

Hello there, Jolaine here, and I'm so happy to be hosting the blog today. 2012 is fast approaching, phew! Where did this year go? It seems like only yesterday when we were welcoming 2011 so I couldn't resist pulling out some photos from our last New Year's Eve. I used a mix of from the three latest collections to create this fun page.

Next, I created a journal as a gift for a friend who likes all things shabby and girlie. To create my journal I cut two pieces of chipboard, regular copy paper and a few sheets of pattern paper to 8.25"x5.25" and bound everything together with my Cinch.

I used the Beautiful Dreamer collection and added a Tim Holtz book plate and rosette trim with lots of images cut out of the paper collection.

I kept the inside very simple as I want the recipient to be able to journal and maybe adhere ephemera or photos throughout the book.

"Learn to Fly" book with Michelle Philippi

I'll be the first to tell you that I don't put a lot of time in to my crafts.
That doesn't mean though that I don't put a lot of thought or heart in to them. I wanted to give my daughter a little book for Christmas. Some sort of female affirmation book. I want her to grow up to be strong and confident and know how much love we all have for her. So I got some coasters and started adhering great sentiments and pieces from Glitz's Dance in Sunshine collection.

When I was done I had this little Learn to Fly book. I thought this was perfect to start with as that really is my goal: nurture her and give her wings so that she can fly with grace and beauty...all on her own.

I'm not a scrapbooker so I don't really know if there are rules or an art to journaling, so I just wrote what I wanted where I wanted. She's only 7 so I kinda had to keep it simple.

I think I love the back of the book just as much as I do the rest of it.

And here it is all packaged up for Christmas!

Snowy Layout & a Mini with Audrey Yeager

Welcome Winter! Audrey here to share a winter themed layout that I did using some Beautiful Dreamer and Dance In the Sunshine papers. 

I have always loved light pinks and aquas on snow themed pages, and the colors that my daughter is wearing just fit perfectly!  In October, we traveled to the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, and there happened to be snow on some of the mountain tops one chilly, early morning.  It was absolutely beautiful to see.  My daughter hasn’t seen much snow before, so it was quite a surprise to her when she picked it up and felt how cold it was!

On my background, I stamped a whole bunch of snowflakes and then heat embossed them with some clear embossing powder.  I then misted the page a bit with some white spray mist.

To make the large snowflakes, I used some of the elastic ribbon with the pom-pom ends and just drew a snowflake shape with some glue onto cream colored cardstock.  I added bits of the ribbon and then hand cut out the design.  And a little Stickles makes everything sparkle!

When my daughter was born in 2009, I made a mini album documenting her first day, so I had to do the same with my little guy that was born this past July.  I used two different chipboard albums and combined the pages which were different shapes.  On some of the pages I backed them with papers that better matched my color scheme.

On the cover I machine stitched around a transparency and then tightened some aqua tulle around the front tied with an aqua pom-pom trim.

I chose a few of my favorite photos from the day and a whole punch of my favorite phrase stickers and whatnots from the Glitz collections. 

I also layered in some of the Peek A Boos transparncies in between the pages.

I added some journaling strips on each page, but told the entire story in the journaling box at the end of the album.

I am so glad that I got to document this wonderful day for us all to remember!

Merry Christmas cards with Laurie Schmidlin

Good morning!  It's my turn again to share some Holiday projects featuring Glitz's beautiful papers and embellishments!

For both of my projects today, I used papers and embellishments from the Dance in Sunshine collection!  I thought the soft purple and teals in this collection would look so pretty all dressed up for the Holidays!  :-)
For my first project, I created a soft and festive bag...perfect for tucking a small gift or card set inside!  Along with the papers (all from the Dance in Sunshine collection), I used a heart garland Whatnot to further embellish my bag.

For my next project, I created a matching card using many of the same papers and embellishments!  The focal image on this card is the Peek-a-Boo frame with the stamped sentiment.  I just love how all of the elements in this collection works so well together!
