Seeing Generations with Mou Saha

Hi everyone, Mou Saha here with today's post.  This month our blog challenge is all about the women in our lives.

If I had to choose the biggest influences in my life, I'd have to pick my mom, my grandma and great-grandma. They shaped my values growing up. In my adult life, however, the biggest influence is my daughter, in whom I see a little bit of everyone of these ladies. My first layout is dedicated to all of these wonderful women.

Glitz Design February 2012 Blog Challenge

Hi there, everyone!  After a weekend chalk FULL of projects featuring our new collections at CHA, we decided to give the blog a little break and announce the February Blog Challenge this afternoon.  For February, we are doing a fabulous color challenge that is perfect for the theme of love and valentine's day!!  Check it out!

In the post below this one, Emeline has shown how she used this gorgeous color combo!  Be sure to check back all through the month, because our designers are going to give you LOTS of inspiration when it comes to using these colors!

You will notice that these colors are perfect for our Beautiful Dreamer collection, but it also fits Love Nest and some older Glitz Design collections as well!  Remember...you can use any products from the Glitz Design collection....old or new!!

Love & Miss You Cards with Laurie Schmidlin

A great big happy Thursday to you!  It's my turn to share what I came up with this month's Blog Challenge, which happens to be a scrumptious color challenge! 

Aren't these colors gorgeous?  Here's what I came up with...

 For my first card, I used one of the Happy Travels Cardstock Journaling Stickers as my card base (I just trimmed the ivory cardstock around it).  I really liked the shape and thought it would make a fun shaped card!

For my second card, I chose three different patterned papers from the new Pretty in Pink 6" Paper Pack.  I embellished it with a stamped image, some Teeny Alpha Stickers, & a Glitzer.

Soft & Shabby Cards with Laurie Schmidlin

Hi there!  Laurie here, and it's my turn again to share some more projects with you!
Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays!  I mean, a whole day devoted to letting people know how wonderful they are...what could be better?  :-)

Technically, this first card isn't a Valentine's Day card, but I was just so smitten with the Beautiful Dreamer line and I thought it would look pretty as an encouragement card as well!  :-)

I am so loving Glitz's new Epoxy Word stickers!  They are just the perfect addition to any card!

My second card is all about Love!  I used part of a Love Nest Whatnot (I cut off the bingo part) for the Love layer.  In fact, I cut up my Whatnots a lot!  Shocking, I know...but they not only last longer but they fit better onto my cards.  :-)  To finish the card off, I added lots of trims and ribbon, a button, a Love Nest Rub On (on the right upper corner) and a cardstock "u" sticker!

Letters to Her Kids with Mou Saha

To me the first month of the brand new year is about going back to the basics, remembering and reminding the simplest things. So, my layouts this month are like letters to my kids.

My first layout is based on this month's FOCUS idea.

 I have tried to capture the feel of that focus in color and texture.

Documenting Daily Life with Emeline Seet

Hello to all and HAPPY OCTOBER !

While I am waiting for my new products, I continue to indulge in my existing stash from Glitz Design.

I simply adore the distressed yellow in Glitz Design's Afternoon Muse's collection.
The tone is not too bright, toned down with appropriate grunge. Absolute delight to create with !

I am an advocate in documenting our daily lives, the nitty gritty activities. Especially activities that bring a smile to our faces. Here, I documented photos reminding us (our kids, especially) the "tradition" we practice during the start of the school vacation. A Macdonald's treat over lunch to kick off the long holidays!

I don't know about you, but I seem to always be in need of birthday and thank you cards!  I try to keep a stash of several of each kind so that I have them ready when the need arises.    So when I sat down to stamp, I knew that I wanted to start replenishing my stash!
 
For my first card, I started with some super fun Glitz paper (from the Scarlett Collection).  A stamped centerpiece, some simple embellishments, and a couple of decorative borders and my card was finished!

Ooooh how I love Glitz's Love Nest Collection!  Talk about vintage yumminess!!  Happy sigh...

Here I started with the Love Nest Damask paper and added on a Whatnot (which I embossed the sentiment on), Cardstock Sticker, and some decorative Rub Ons.

Off the Edge cards with Iwona Palamountain

Hello paper lovers, I have a couple of cards for you tonight, and I hope you'll like them as much as I do!

For the first card, I cut out the image from the Afternoon Muse paper. I really wanted to use it as a whole, and so I decided not to worry about the bits sticking out and making the card a non-standard size. It looks really lovely and works just fine for a dimension junkie like myself :)
I also added some texture with pleated ribbon and baker's twine. I love the cheerful, retro look that this card is sporting :)

Celebrate with Mou Saha

In our September is birthday month! Mine's today, Nini's on the 26th, my best friend's on the 11th, my cousin's on the 7th and more... since I got birthday on my mind, that's the topic of my first layout.

Good morning!  As I sat down to stamp, I was inspired to create using the previously released collections Love Nest and Hoopla!

Oh how I love the Love Nest collection!  Warm and pretty vintage hues, with distressed patterns...mmmm, mmm!  Here I paired several of the Love Nest papers with some coordinating Love Nest embellishments!

I created my second card using the fun and bright Hoopla collection!  After making a small pocket (using some Hoopla patterned paper), I inserted a coordinating tag that can also later be used as a bookmark!  So fun!

Glitzers...lots and lots of Glitzers!!  I love it!  In fact, Glitzers might possibly be my favorite Glitz embellishment!  I especially love how well they stick, even across multiple layers!

Backpack Notes with Michelle Philippi

I can't believe school is starting up again just one week from today. My kiddies will be starting 2nd and 4th grade. I know it sounds cliche', but where does the time go? I mean really. We were just practicing how to spell "cat-hat-rat" and now we're writing big words like "everything" in cursive. Amazing.

Today I'm sharing some little backpack notes I made for my kids. We'll get their backpacks ready together the night before, and then I'll tuck these in to their snack pockets where they'll be sure to find them and be reminded that mom and dad are thinking about them as they embark on this new year.
