Romantic Frame & Jewelry Box with Tammy Tutterow

The colors in the Love Nest collection are perfect for love inspired project.  For this frame, I re-faced a small box frame that I found at my local Target store on clearance for $2.50.  I applied Damask patterned paper to the front and sides of the frame.


On the front of the frame, I used the music scale stamp from the Distressing 2 stamp set using Brushed Corduroy Distress ink.  I used the same ink to all of the edges on the frame.  In the top left corner, I added a swallow Glitzers sticker.

In the lower corner, I layered a Love Nest Glitzers frame onto Love Nest Whatnot.  I distressed the edges of the Whatnot with a Distrezz It All tool and inked them using Brushed Corduroy.  I added a cluster of flowers tied off with a bit of brown Tulle and crinkled ribbon.  I added two green flourish Love Nest Glitzers with the flowers to look like leaves.  I finished off the cluster with a Love Nest Rub On phrase applied to a scrap piece of a previously used Whatnot that I had trimmed.

To create the flowers, I die cut a piece of Love Nest Paper Layers using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die.  I spritzed the flowers with a pink shade of Glimmer Mist.  When dry, I added Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink to the edges.  I lightly distressed the petals with the Distrezz It All tool.  I folded two flowers into a cone shape and wrapped the tip with floral wire to create a stem.

For my second project, I re-covered an small wooden jewelry box that I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby for $5.00.  I used the Love Nest Polka patterned paper (the dots were a perfect match to the original color of the box) to cover the top lid and the drawer fronts.

On the top of the lid, I layered several elements together to add decoration.  The base layer is a large Love Nest Peek-a-Boo.  The print on the piece is bright red.  The reverse side of the print is pinkish and much softer looking so I place it print side down.  On top of the Peek-a-Boo, I added a Love Nest Whatnot to which I applied a couple of Love Nest rose Rub Ons.  The next layer is another Peek-a-Boo.  I added a phrase to a scrap of patterned paper using the brown Teeny Alpha stickers.  I stapled the strip onto the top of the piece and adhered it all to the top of my box.

Love Nest Happiness with Christine Penaflor

Good morning! I hope this day has begun with beautiful weather and an abundance of blessings your way!
I am so excited to be able to share the projects that I created with the new Glitz Design Love Nest collection. When I first saw the papers, stickers, and embellishments from this collection, I nearly fainted! I simply adore this collection, and I hope you'll agree with me after I show you what I created…

For this first card, I used the following products:

• Glitz Design “Love Nest” Paper:  Sky
• Glitz Design “Love Nest”  Titles Cardstock Stickers
• Other: Bazzill cardstock, Prima flower, rhinestones, laces, ribbon

I rarely make tall or long cards so I decided to make a couple that would fit into a regular business sized envelope. I started with a brown cardstock base then I cut a piece of Glitz Design Love Nest Paper in the Sky pattern. I adhered an aqua colored ribbon down the middle of the patterned paper and then stitched along the edges to create a border. I adhered a piece of white lace on top of the aqua ribbon and attached this to the card front.

Next, I adhered a piece of cream lace along the bottom of the patterned paper and adhered the bottom part of the aqua ribbon over the lace. The sentiment sticker from the Love Nest Titles set was adhered on top of the lace and the card was embellished with a flower and rhinestones as shown to complete it.

This time I chose to make a long horizontal card by starting with a dark red cardstock base. A piece of Glitz Design Love Nest paper in the Polka pattern was stitched along the border. Next, I punched a border from brown cardstock and adhered it to the bottom edge of the patterned paper. I adhered a length of lace on the paper a shown and then adhered this to the card front.

A small  piece of Glitz Design Love Nest Sky paper was stitched along the border, the edges were distressed, and then adhered to the card front. On top of that paper, I adhered a small calendar card from the Love Nest Whatnot card set using foam adhesive for dimension. Next, I layered a piece of die cut felt on top of the calendar card. I die cut a piece of Sky patterned paper, painted it with Shimmerz Tickle Me Turquoise paint, and then adhered the sentiment sticker from the Love Nest Titles set on top of the die cut. Finally the rhinestones were added to the card as the finishing touch.

Friendly Vintage Cards with Christine Penaflor

Good morning! As we approach Thanksgiving here in the United States., I would like to thank everyone for taking a moment to visit today!
I would also like to thank Glitz Designs for the opportunity to work with their marvelous product lines, and today I will be sharing a couple of projects from the Glitz Designs Love Notes collection.
One thing that we can all be thankful for is a good friend and what better way to remember a friend than with a handmade card like the one below:

For this card, I used the following products:

• Glitz Design “Love Nest” Paper:  Sky, Polka
• Glitz Design “Love Nest”  Titles Cardstock Stickers, Whatnot Cards
• Other: Bazzill cardstock, Prima flower, Cuttlebug die, woven trim, ribbon

To create this card, I made a card base from dark brown cardstock. Next, I cut a piece of Sky Glitz Design “Love Nest” Paper and adhered it to the left side of the card front. A piece of Glitz Design “Love Nest” Polka paper was adhered to the right side of the card front and then I drew a border around the edges of the patterned papers using a black pen.

 

A piece of brown cardstock was die cut and the swirls were adhered on top of the Sky patterned paper. A length of woven trim was adhered next to the die cut swirls and a vintage card from the Love Nest Whatnot set was adhered onto the card front. Layered on top of the vintage card is a doily and a vintage image sticker from the Love Nest Titles cardstock sticker set. Finally, a ribbon bow and flower complete the card.
Another thing we can all remember and be thankful for is the journey that we make through life with all its ups and downs, good times and challenging times, joys and sorrows. So often it's easy to focus on where we want to be that we forget the moments that are before us to enjoy. I hope that this following project is a reminder to take a moment to appreciate and be grateful for the journey that we travel in the present time.

 

I used the following products for the card shown above:

• Glitz Design “Love Nest”  Titles Cardstock Stickers, Whatnot Cards
• Other: Bazzill cardstock, Prima flower and pearls, Tattered Angels chipboard, Martha Stewart border punch, lace, ribbon, sewing machine stitching

First, I created at 6”x6” card base and adhered a piece of Love Nest Sky patterned paper to the top half of the card. A piece of Love Nest Damask patterned paper was adhered to the bottom half of the card front. A Love Nest Whatnot card with the title “Remember” was cut in half, stitched along the edges, and adhered to the top half of the card front.

A border was punched from a piece of brown cardstock and adhered to the bottom half of the card front as shown. Layered on top of the punched border is a length of aqua ribbon, lace, an embossed chipboard piece and a sentiment sticker from the Love Notes Titles Cardstock set. Finally, a flower and pearls were added to complete the card.

Cards made with Love with Laurie Schmidlin

A great big happy Monday to you!  Valentine's Day is just one short week away and that has gotten me thinking about those in my life that I love.  :-)   I adore making cards...and especially for those that are special to me!  Nothing says I Love You quite like a made-with-heart card!

I chose some of the softer patterns from the Love Nest collection for my first card  So that it would stand out a bit from the background, I arched the vellum layer (with the Love is rub on already applied) a bit and secured it with some brads on the sides.

For my next card, I again chose some patterned paper from the Love Nest collection!  After adhering the bottom two layers together, I stamped one of the large rectangle frames (from the Fancy Frames set) using some brown pigment ink so that it covered a bit of both layers.  To create the focal point, I stamped a lovey-dovey sentiment and then added some Love Nest Glitzers to a round Love Nest cardstock journaling sticker (which I had already added some messy stitching to).

It’s that Glitzy time of the month again when I get to share a project with you AND some of the new goodies that the Oh so talented Glitz team have brought us. If it’s possible to be in love with paper products I am head over heels ... the biggest question is where to start! Which line, which exciting new embellishment to use?
To be honest I wanted to use it all but settled with a little ... for now!


Beautiful Autumn

We don’t have thanksgiving here in the UK but there are times in life that stop you in your tracks to give thanks for family, friends and moments like these. Driving home on bonfire night last year Mother Nature made me stop in my tracks, get out of the car and snap this pic on my mobile phone. Who needs a firework display to ‘oohhh’ and ‘ahhh’ at after you’ve seen this! I wanted to record it in a scrap page and the new Love Nest collection from Glitz Designs was the perfect choice.

I marked out an aperture, slightly smaller than the photo which I wanted to be central (unusual for me!) to take focus, and cut it out with a craft knife from the polka paper. I then ripped a square from the reverse of the sky paper (a fabulous scrunched up brown paper) to add a frame over the frame and ripped out the centre.


After ripping out the polka aperture, distressing paper edges and inking copiously I adhered the brown paper frame to the page and then ripped back into the polka aperture to roll and fold sections back.


To continue the optical illusion that the photo is popping out of the paper I then backed the aperture with the damask paper.


I added the photo into the frame on foam pads to add more dimension and used some words from the Love Nest titles, journaling and rub ons packs as well as adding the cute bird rub ons to fill the edge.


To pull some of the fabulous citrus green colour from the title stickers I tore a strip from the green side of the floral paper, I love how Glitz add contrasting colours that really pop in their collections so you can mix it up. I also tore another strip from the brown paper side of polka, inked them and attached them across my page with just enough green peeking out.


One of the new additions to the Glitz lines is the Tulle which comes in yummy colours, I used a strip of the brown attaching it across my page with brads and twisting it to add interest. I also twisted and tacked down the bit of tulle that would sit under my journaling block to add more shape (and also to make it easier to add the block!)


I sanded, distressed and inked the Love Nest What Not, I love that Glitz has brought out a set of What Nots to go with each new line, they’re so useful and so much fun!


I used the What Not for my journaling and added it to my page.


The finishing touches were some flowers and vines to reflect nature and to tie in all the elements of the page. And that’s it a record of a most amazing display from Mother Nature brought together beautifully with the new Love Nest line from Glitz.

Spring Vibes with Mou Saha

Hello there, Mou Saha here with today's inspiration. Spring comes early around my neck of the woods. So, here's to those of you who are dealing with the harshness of winter, sending you warm spring vibes.

While I was gearing up for spring cleaning, I looked around my studio and saw piles of things to organize, but among the piles were wonderful inspring stuff that I love to see every day and I felt gratitude for having the luxury of my own little creative space, my nest.

I cut up the Love Nest Block paper and attached it to look like a line of diamonds and stitched across it.

The Love Note Paper Layer music sheet gave me space for journaling.

For this next layout, I cut around sections from the Love Nest Floral paper and arranged them in layers using dimensional adhesive.

After attaching the flowers, I outlined each piece with a black marker to make them pop.

Cards to Adore with Laurie Schmidlin

Good morning!  In keeping with this month's theme, I have created a couple of Love cards to share with you today!  The wonderful thing about love is that it can be celebrated all year long!  Weather it's for Valentine's Day, a Wedding Anniversary, or just because...cards celebrating love are always in style!  :-)
 
I started with some yummy Love Nest papers and then added a cardstock frame around the Love Nest rub ons.

Because I love me some sparkle :-), I added some Stickles to the flowers!

In this photo, you can see the ruffle I created using some red Glitz Tulle and my sewing machine.

For the finishing touch, I added a cream bow with a red giant rhinestone in the center!

On my next card, I created a vellum pocket to hold a removable note.

This little "love note" can also later be used as a bookmark!

Love & Happiness with Mou Saha

Hi there, Mou Saha here with today's layouts. It's February and love is in the air. Whatever embodies your love the most this season, celebrate it! For me, my greatest love are my children and this month, I've dedicated both layouts to them as they are the reason I scrapbook :)
In my first layout "Love Always", I wanted to create a pretty vintage look. The pink Damask paper was the perfect background and the bird cage paper layer was just the photo matte I needed.

I created rosettes using both sides of the Damask paper and added giant rhinestones to make the centers.

I created the title in layers. First added the clear frame sticker and added the pink alphabet stickers on top.

The rub on clock and 'love' definition were perfect embellishments for the page.

My second layout has more of a rustic feel to it.

In keeping with that feel, I tore paper and created a rough ruffled at the bottom and along the the right edges of the page. The stickers came together to sum up my message and create the title. The coordinating sides of the paper took the guesswork out of it. I used the finer dots as the photo matte and journaling spot.
